[.915] Tech-trees (hero-city-armies) Suggestions

More choices plz

Greetings and Salutations  (Yo!)

Suggestion 1

I can seem to get the Hero I want, too many useless crap. I would like a PROMPT asking what type I would like to improve:

 - Path chosen  or - Magic ranks (including training a fresh one) or - General / random (unique/different/non-generic).

Then, gimme 1 choice out of 3 in that category.

Suggestion 2

City level is a great idea, but I feel it falls short of its true potential.      Two reasons:  not enough choices (too bland) and

not enough time; cities will seldom rise beyond level 3 by the time the game is technically over.

So to avoid having the same 20 buildings (3 being the player choice) in a city, I propose the following:

- City has 20 levels:

- Prompt at level:  Improve Civics (growth-money), Warfare (offence-defence), Magic (research-magic)

- Player select  1 out of 3 choices (out of total of 30-50 choices) from that category.

For balance, you have prereqs like city levels, tech tree, terrain, other buildings or Heroes with governor path

Suggestion 3

Armies tech tree (see CIV5)   but be more creative, new abilities unlocked are cool.

Armies recruits.  For a fee (exp or money or faction) armie grows to the next (researched) size..3-5-7 or 9

Armies refits into other equipment for a fee (see GALCIV2)   (inside city only?)

:digichet: :sheep:     Be cool

Hey Kongdej...

Seems like my choices in my hero level up screen are limiting me, mostly by offering stuff I find inappropriate.

So, in order to better that, I suggest these 2 steps:

1) You ask the player to select a category of advancement.  Choose a category of advancement out of those 3 choices

            a) your current path(s)   For example, if you choose warrior, warrior specific  (For example ''Lethal'' 1-2-3-4-5) would spawn here.

            b) Magic Rank.  Raising magic level would pop up here, so would gaining a new one (for a fee)

            c)  General and random.   For example ''general'' would be like  initiative(1-2-3) or resistance or Dodge (1-2-3-4)

For example ''random'' would be:  You can now generate free quest in cities (duplicate the quest scroll)

2) THEN you give him his 3 choices (if applicable) in that category.

Maybe 3 choices is  too much since you all ready gave him a selection, maybe 2 would be just fine.

------------------------------------------------ thats for Hero level up, above

Now, Armies level up.    rather than the bland, generic and flat  HP/accuracy increase, provide a choice for the player.

Choices in CIV-5 , as an example,   better combat value in flat land (level 1-2-3)... that lead to extra attack, and extra reach

Other choices were: entrench (better combat value while defending),  siege: increase city offence...(level 1-2). etc etc.

Refit in Galactic civilization 2 (galciv2) allowed the player the ability to retool its unit(s) for a fee.  you could Increase its speed, range, armor of weapon.

Further more, another choice was given in terms of economics.   Pay the price now,  pay half and the rest in installement, pay in installements.

It was pretty cool.

Anyways, long post for ya :)

Hmm makes much more sense to me now though xD

There is good sense behind this post.

Though, you wanna wait with Suggestion: 2: until after the next major patch, they are reworking how cities are going to work so you might even get to see your money's worth, feel free to write large posts on your ideas but I think the ball is allready rolling :)

Suggestion 3: subcategory 2 and 3 have allready been said tons of times, (probably for a reason ;)). And I would love to see refitting of units become more easily handled, mostly on the interface parts (Hardly ever try to notice it though, my units tend to die rather quickly ^_^)
But about levelling your non-hero units the way you level units in civ 5, I think its nice that "Trained Units" have little micromanagement when it comes to levelling.
It makes heroes feel very special, and it gets rid of a tedious job that is the late-game when all your units level in stacks of 9 and rather often, and you build lvl 3 units out of your cities.
So I am happy to not have to do all that clicking just for a slightly different bonus on level-ups.

Suggestion 1: I agree on most of the traits being bland, and outside my interest, usually messing up my mage heroes, or my melee heroes with rubbish traits that dont even get near what I wanted my hero to do.
I would love to see a system letting me focus slightly more on a role, and getting rid of some of the traits that does very little to make the hero (and at the start of a map, the game) feel... boring, especially after they removed stats to do so all the level-up traits only did 1 thing in particular.
Your system in particular sounds rather complicated though, would love to see a simplified version xD

(I am a typical player, I want all aspects of the game to be perfect, high-tech graphics, require a low-tech computer and have an awesome user interface :))
