I havnt made one for DX but in WMP it was easy.Basically just 2 images, one for a background and one for the volume level(plus maybesome moueover states, been awhile since I made one)Then another set of images for a thumb button if you wanted one.

I'm assuming the techniques are similar for any media player.Look at how someone else did it,always the easiest way to learn how.

You need two images one for the background and the second one for the slider or fader slide button. Make a new object add DXplayer, Then configure, Next decide which one you want slider or fader, use your two images, You can use default states or you can use a graphic button for Volume disable and volume enable but it is not necessary if you use default mouse away. Also you will have to use mouse coordinates in the summary section of the object properties to place your slider or fader on your object. Hope this helps
