What gives / does not give xp - possible bug?

im getting confused - in entrenchment if i had a fleet in a system - with two other fleets battleing in the same system i gained xp - from watching the battle as such - this does not seem to the case anymore and its the first time ive noticed this - how long ago was this changed or is this a bug in rebellion?

i can see why you would go with only the races in combat gain XP but my cap ships should be getting xp because they are helping - im playing vasari loyalist and i have 3 HK fleets jumping around the galaxy taking then stripping planets - i have a badly damaged fleet - 2 carriers 1 coloniser 1 antorak 1 new guy and since they are badly damaged im sitting on the edge of the system  but the two other AI's are still fighting (its a ffa game) and i think since my caps are launching fighters and are in the system the crew should gain experience - from observing if nothing else

What do you think?

 

Ah yes also can anyone post any issues with XP they have come across 

i dont know if they fixed it in beta3 but the ART was not giving XP

i know the maw not giving xp will be fixed in the next release

ok - im now 100% sure that any caps or titans in the system should be gaining xp even if they are not the ones destroying the units.

Im still playing the same game - 2 huge AI fleets are fighting in 1 corner of the system and both keep reinforcing - my 14 caps have moved and are now attackiking the starbase - starbase is slowley dying but my ships have been in combat for a while now and no xp gained - this means that in team games online some players will avoid targeting starbases and cap ships and phocus on structures frigates and cruisers in combat since you can destory them quicker you will gain xp faster /

unless im totally wrong - makes sense to me but then again i dont play online that much

Odd. I played a single player with two other computers. I managed to reach peace treaties with both, then watched them kill one another in a system, and my capital ships were leveling up from watching.

ok yes thats what should have happened - or thats what used to happen but its not happening in my beta 3

by any chance where you advent and just researched the auto level up thing? :)
