PPC Dashboard Skins & Wizbar

I've installed a few of the skins but I can never get the wizbar to appear? Do I need additional software? How can I get rid of that generic "start" navigation bar?

You need to have both Dashboard and WISBar installed. You can find WISBar at http://www.walkers.ne.jp/

Download the appropriate CAB file, move it onto your Pocket PC with ActiveSync, then tap on it in Explorer. This page http://www.foxpop.ndirect.co.uk/PocketPC/wisbar_01.htm has some more detailed info.

I actually stumbled on that review when I was looking to replace GigaBar. Ends up giving a nice "how-to" that's never been available on the WISBar site itself!

I'm just hoping someone picks up WISBar and continues development. (Not sure why the news item I posted about the source code being available never got posted on here...)

actually ppc 2002 resolves some reasons why ppl used GigaBar and Wisbar in the first please (app close reasons mainly)
but there is still the eyecandy factor...

I like pocketblinds the best cuz it skins top, bottom, buttons and has plugins and I say if you're gonna do something might as well go for the gusto! right?

The wisbar developer seems like he is tired now, I was going to interview him for Teknidermy however we had a translation problem and I got too lazy to follow up

I should've though...

Unfortunately, my PocketPC's not upgradeable (Cassiopeia EM-500), and I don't see spending the money JUST to get PPC2002.

I do like the concept of PocketBlinds. The main reason I haven't been using that is, to be honest, I haven't figured out how to skin it I know you can supposedly use SkinStudio, but "user friendly" does not exactly describe SkinStudio.

Well dress up in this one until you figure that out Glen
6th one down on this page:

Called "Block OS" super clean and all you have to do is open up the images and edit them, That's what I did

I made mine pink w/ black Bold outlines of course cuz me is a girl... hehe

and just used his .uis file and his image files to create my own pink/black version of it.

hmm I better get busy and stop playin around today I feel a phone call coming at me from work...
