Also fun fact: the Orky is the only starbase w/ non-capital type weapons- which is to say it's pulseguns do 100% damage to corvettes, whereas every other starbase's weapons ALL deal 25% damage to corvettes.

And considering the Orky can attack 5/6 targets per bank(depending on research level), I suspect it will destroy the corvettes that other starbases fear.

Game balance is a mess , total mess. Vasa dont need HC , scirms , assilents ,just sb some carriers and suppoort crusers.

Going to play diablo 3 be back when they will fix this mess...

Sins of a Starbase Empire

The VR Orky is so OP right now lol.  No fleet supply and yet it's basically a titan that can wipe the floor with everything in sight.  In my most recent game, my endgame primary fleet consisted of..

1x Jarassul
1x Skirantra
1x Vulkoras
15x Flak
20x Overseers
15x LC
1x Kultorask (maxed NL, level 1 NR, level 2 GP, and maxed D)
1x Orkulus (2x weapons, 3x hull, 2x DV, 1x squadrons)

Between the Skirantra, Overseers, and the Kultorask my fleet was more or less immortal allowing my titan to annihilate enemy fleets with the NL+GP+D combo.  As if all that wasn't enough, my Orky could easily wipe out enemy capitals.  For titans, just focus fire alongside bomber spam.  Everything dies.

Because the Orky spits out uniform damage in all directions, just fly into the middle of the enemy fleet and watch the carnage.

Orkies have always been great on offense, but at least they'd start off weak.  Now, you can bring in what is effectively a titan without any problems.  It really should be made a module.

The Vasari have arrived, be prepared.

Tier 5? Seriously, tier 5? Im starting to think devs are on crack. Sure, Vasari just got into Reb, BUT ($*%*#! TIER 5??!!

I found that strange as well Mecha, it makes the upgrade severely cost effective. I would not mind that if it was not for the Advent being the kings of cost inefficiency. Almost nothing they have is worth the cost. Take this with a grain of salt im not saying they are helpless im saying they have it the worst. Mobile starbases, badass. Two Starbases, badass. Wail? Cool but highly situational.

I think that instead of nerfing the Vasari Loyalist Okry jump ability, they should just nerf the starting stats of the Orky a little. That said, the Vasari are supposed to be the uber race, and be nigh-unstoppable if, and that's a large if, they manage to get all of their techs. The loyalists can have a great fleet with essentially unlimited resources from eating planets, while the Rebels can send in their SB with their fleet to help destroy all enemies.

Nope--it just can't jump into a grav well where they already have a starbase.  Otherwise it can jump anywhere it wants.

Which reminds me: "Where do you park an 800 million metric ton Orkulus starbase?".  Hehe...I know.

Without modding it...you can not move into another gravity well where YOU have reached the maximum number of YOUR starbases allowed for YOUR player slot.

Re-read the description of the tech. It says you jump as many starbases as you want into one gravity well. But only one of them will actually fire. That means you can just sit there and have one die and instantly have another come back online as a place holder.

While orky jumping it should loose a lot of HP and shields.

I would say at least 50%.......

Is the Orky Starbase disabled if it jumps into an enemy grav well with an enemy starbase present or just if its another of your own Orky starbases in that grav well

Other players/races need means to disable SB jump to own planets. Maybe new module to SB or tech to upgrade Phase Jump Inhibitor.

Well I played 1 game with vasa on mp and while we lost 3 players early on me and hiro were able to turn things around. Didn't play against them yet though.
