Guys, I'm trying hard to use Multiplicity Pro.  Win7 64 bit with Vista 32 bit and a laptop with Win 7 64 bit.

Keeps connecting then disconnecting.

Brand new router.

Are you using wireless?

Also make sure you do not have any other machines trying to connect to the same secondary as only one can control it at once.  You should also check your setup to make sure you only have same secondary listed once.  If you have another secondary configured with the same IP address this will cause problems!

Wired and wireless. No duplicated names, no double secondaries.

Funny thing is, after posting this, I went out for, oh, 15 minutes, came back, it's working.

Go figger.

One primary only. Two secondaries.

I dropped it and reinstalled Mouse Without Borders......I know, I know....give me 40 lashes with a wet noodle.

Hey, I still like Stardock products.

Latest build has been rock solid here. Win 7 x64 on primary. All kinds of secondaries. Just don't use it with CursorFX...

Why. I have been. Is that the problem?

From the sounds of it your wireless network was dropping packets and/or delaying them sometimes.

Multiplicity uses TCP for connections and expects responses within a certain timeframe or it assumes bad things have happened.

The alternative is if you have any sort of firewall / anti spyware / anti adware apps they can sometimes mess with connections and end up corrupting things which Multiplicity would see as a protocol error.

Windows firewall, and the nat firewall in the router, defaults. No anti virus/anti malware/anti adware running. New router, dual band simultaneous, extended range, netgear.

Mouse Without Borders works flawlessly with this setup.

Multiplicity would be my preferred app, just out of loyalty to SD, but I have to use what works.

Running a Win 7 64 bit lappy (secondary), Win 7 64 bit PC (primary), Win Vista 32 bit (secondary), Win XP 32 bit (secondary).

The latter 2 are in a triple boot setup with Ubuntu. So both not running at the same time, of course.

JimSevenLappy has the issue wired or wireless. It's the Vista/XP/Ubuntu (JimPC in the vid) that's always wired.

MPC and CFX tend to make the cursor unvisible at times. ;-)

Three machines, Win 7 x64 god, XP slave wired, Vista x64 slave wireless. all are on the same net. Network name, mask, etc. I have never had problems in the... er... 8 or so years I've used it, although this is the first year to have one machine wireless.  I would guess that something is dropping at the router. Either signal wise or perhaps even some type of filter?  My wireless is authenticated, not sure if that makes it more stable or not. Perhaps even someone else's non authenticated router that it keeps connecting to? You wouldn't notice it surfing, but sure would trying to do something unattended on the network.
