64 Bit Rebellion?

64 Bit Rebellion?

I was playing rebellion earlier today, and i noticed the lag hit me again at around 60 mins. During the frustration i closed out the game with taskmanager and i noticed the game is still 32 bit.

I thought the hype for Rebellion, was it was going to be 64 bit?

I'm running an I7 with 12 gigs GTX 550 TI Win7Ultimate 64 ; so i should be able to handle anything sins can throw at me. But with that memory limitation it's pretty much useless.

Is it still being worked on?

Quoting DFM6000, reply 22How is that comment at all helpful? If you posted that much maybe you can post a link to the company announcement!!!If you would just follow the homepage news (Twitter & Facebook also) and check the forums regularly, you wouldn't have missed anything.

But why would i care to do that? I'm not investing in Star dock or Iron Clad i stand to gain nothing from sitting on my butt cheeks waiting for company announcements.

My only concern as a consumer is that a quality product is delivered for what i'm paying; i'm also one of the beta testers i'm makeing a post to let the developers no where i stand with there product.

Well it seems a bit silly that you are not willing to read the homepage news, yet wonder why Sins doesn't meet your expected system requirements. Do you even read the technical specs when you buy a new game? It can never hurt to put some research into any product you buy...

You kind of make it sound like you bought a Fiat at a car dealer, expected it to handle like a Lamborghini, and now complain about it at the customer service after coming to realize it doesn't handle like a Lamborghini now that you made your first roadtrip with the car. You do expect them to improve the cars' handling, however.

This is why you should pay attention to the system requirements and the limitations and possibilities that come with them. Also, checking the news on a game that is still in development, isn't a bad call.

I'm not too worried about Sins being 32-bit. In fact, I'm specifically waiting until the game comes out to buy it at full price, as a thank-you to the developers.

I AM worried about lag caused by the 32-bit architecture, however.

Sins is a very efficient game from what I've seen, but with the graphical enhancements and such, I worry that the game won't be able to function at five stars and 132 planets.

I guess what I'm asking is, is there some way to make Sins more efficient? Please bear in mind that I'm an idiot.

If you download the Maelstrom_Diplomacy_Expansion_1.34_7 mod there is .exe patcher that opens up + 2 gig ram for sins it should also work on any exe file. You can get it other ways if you google it I am sure. It does reduce the lagg a bit but not much.

Warning !

Back up your exe file first or since its though steam it shouldn't matter just delete the .exe if it don't work and do a (VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CATCH) in the launch options by right clicking it in ya steam browser.

Small edit : I Think the file is called 64Bit_OS_4GB_Patch so google that might come up with something.

here is link for you read up I think there is a link too ! :digichet:

So let me understand this you just called Rebellion a fix it again tony, and i'm expecting it to run like a lamborghini? all i have to say to that is lol.

By the way you sound like a milk drinker that is using an alienware computer, my reason for saying this is a person that needs to read spec's for a pc game knows nothing about pc's. When you become a true gamer, you will know what your pc can handle and what it can't.

I've been playing sins before it was actually retail, that's why i'm pushing a request for a change in the game. However i'm sure no changes will be made because the game releases in less then a month.

Maybe you should read my reply more carefully... I just took the Fiat - Lamborghini scenario as an explanation of what you made your issue sound like.

You expect the dev's to make Sins Rebellion 64 bit while it has been clearly stated that it will be a 32 bit game (which you would have known if you simply read the system requirements list). Yet now you call me a milk drinker who knows nothing about pc's solely because I read the system requirements before I buy a new game. How is that fair?

So you have actually been playing Sins for a long time yet still post this thread about it now being 64 bit on the forums. Now you really don't make any sense. For a long time Sins player you should have been well aware about Sins Rebellion being 32 bit...

At this point you actually make it sound like you are the milkdrinker whom doesn't know what to do with his professional gaming rig...

I honestly don't have much to add to this senseless conversation. You are obviously one of those people that cannot admit they could have prevented their own errors, and instead start having a big mouth towards people that try to be helpful.

im not sure how you like this game but i like big fleet battles.

and i cant get the currently because of the limitations of the game.

i payed 30 euros from this game and id expect id be apple to feel the max out of this game even 1vs1. but with fleet points almost fully used and giving the AI some time to get its forces and then clashing on hem and il get a horrible lag and it just takes the fun away.

i have a 4x 3.1GHZ athlon processor.

nvidia 550 gt screen gontroller with 2GB of memory.

and 6GT of RAM.

so these spec do fill pretty much the recomendation.

put a question. if the game is only using 1 core and 2gt ram. why does the specs go higer?

and 6GT of RAM.[/quote]You should be able to play this game just fine without lag until very late stages of the game (I can play most scenarios and multiplayer without lag on my Macbook Pro, which has worse specs than you got).

I agree that one would expect a "new" game to have 64 Bit support and should be able to access additional RAM. Though this game was built on the old Iron engine used for the original Sins game. That's why it is so limited for todays standards.

I have found selecting "Disable Multi GPU" in the Nvidia control panel stopped me lagging out on certain maps, so I would presume from that some of the lag issues are still optimization issues, and this is with a 590gtx card with latest drivers, on a i7 3.2 with 12 gigs of ram........(specs however mean nothing if your gimped at a XP era however)

As for SiNs being 64 bit, bit of a no brainer gamer wise, so obviously Ironclad cant do it for a damn good reason.

I am of the opinion that troll post should be deleted like devs do on other forums, however maebe stardock devs feel that they will hurt the trolls feelings

who cares about 64-bit at this point.  Stop beating the horse's skeleton to even tinier dust particles.

Is Rebellion still loading everything in the game even if you're only playing 2 races?  That's a really pain in the ass right there -especially if you've got a mod with 10+ races  and loads of stuff.
