Let's have a Poll

How many hours do you spend daily, skinning and browsing around the skin sites?

I spend many and I am beginning to think that maybe I am crazy or something

I spend on average about 14 hours or more (if I can get away with it). Guess I'm crazy too, but hopelessly addicted to this stuff.

I too spend most of my day skinning and surfing, but sadly that is about to change drastically.

This is what I am saying to my self too, Bryan, but as starone said, we are addicted!
At least I am not the only one

Between skinning and browsing skin sites..I'd say around 4-5 hours a day. Unfortunately I have to work, otherwise it would probably be 10-12.

I even dream about it....

I spend 3-4 hours, and I am not even a skinner. As a novice, with XP pro, and thinking about going with something like Litestep, for the "effect" of it all. Am I understanding that Litestep can just be used for application of existing themes, or do I have to be a "skinner" first. Honest answer to this one guys (and gals), for someone that very little about skinning, or using Litestep as a creative outlet, how difficult is it to LEARN? I know I will always have this community for assistance, but worry about wearing "thin" if you know what I mean.
I have a 850MHz laptop that I want to breakout for this reason, with XP pro installed....am I getting in over my head or what? This skinning thing could just be my next addiction.......

Thanx

As David K said about dreaming about it - it has gotten to the point that everything I look at starts to spark something in my mind and I find myself commenting, hum, I think that would make a nice desktop, blind, etc. My last theme came about that way - it was a tree topper I fell in love with - a fiberoptic angel where the wings changed colors and the edges of the wings stayed the same color and glistened - absolutely breathtaking.

Actually, I would probably stay up all night doing this stuff too, but my husband makes me go to bed. The evil man even makes me stop to cook (ugh!). (Yes, he'll probably read this thread.)

My job entails hanging around skin sites, making skin, playing with new skins. The other part of my job involves designing and developing PC games.

My life is hell.

At least 2-3 hours a day online...and also I find myself looking at objects differently. Checking colours, shading , etc.
Sad, a?

I spend too much time....
A lot of that is RTFMming LiteSTEP...[now if only I could remember what I read...]....

No, that deformation, which is perfectly natural when your into something. Example, moi is designer which has the side effect that I can't even look at things anymore without wondering how the did it, what material was used, what method of production was used, and so on...

Oh and to answer the question. I work eight hours a day, of which only two (or less) are actually productive hours. Guess what happens the rest of the time?

I spend about 2 to 3 hours a day on here or as much as my wife will allow. This is a very good site as I have been using Windows based computers since 1991 and am very sick of the basic, boring, same as usual for decades type of schemes that they use. Windows XP is the best yet and these skins make it even better. My hat goes off to all of the gifted people who made these!

i'm unemployed at the moment, so i tend to spend pretty much every waking hour online or skinning. most of my skins never even see the light of day though. by the way, if anyone in the uk owns a decent web design company and wants a new designer... call me.

Well let's think, what did I do before I found such a wonderful community?
I used to draw, paint, make Batiq, silk paint do house work (sometimes), watch TV and even read.
I could also be in found in front of a log fire cleaning my fur and and having my tummy tickled whilst watching the world go by
I might even cast a magical spell now and then and sit on my owners Broomstick whilst she dive bombed the top of trees in the moonlit sky

Now what do I do? I spend every moment loging on to see if there are any new skins to adorn my extremely magical puter.
I am up to my Paws in dust and my fur!! well even the Cat next door would not look twice at me now .

But yes I am happy:D and think that this is a wonderful place to hang out and learn. I especially love to read the message boards.

Thanks again to all for a "Magical" site

i spend a lot of hours (4-5) at day. Not all days; i'm not crazy so Nikos and others. ANd deppending the kind of skin, the hours are short (due to grateful work) or hard and horrendous I'm explain: i tempted to make some skin for windowblinds, and is more hard than make animated objects for desktopx!! I'm not finished my skin due to i losed the work ;( , and navigating in Wincustomize i observed a skin with the same idea : However when i make a skin/object/theme for desktopx and the partial results are useful and nice to see, i'm go tho sleep very happy
God Luck WindowBlinds skinners, your work is hard and sometimes non valuated

I seem to always be left wishing it could be more time. I seem to take forever to develop a new theme or wb skin. But daily it likely amounts to 2-3 hours.

let me add it up real quick.
3 hours before my daughter wakes up in the morning. Then another 7 hours while she is in school. Plus another hour in the evening. Then about 3 more after my daughter is asleep at night.

That's 14 hours on weekdays. On weekends a little less.
And less than a third of that is spent online. The rest of it I am either skinning for enjoyment, or doing some freelance graphic work here and there.

No wonder I walk around like a zombie all the time!

Nah...not a zombie....just a 'Crazy Girl'...

Over the years, I've downloaded so many skins that I'll probably have to un-install solitaire to make room for them all!

I used to log-on two or three times a week but, now my business contract has completed, I'm logging on twice a day! The rest of the time I'm designing stuff (including new ideas for skins) on CorelDraw - and with all the rain we've been having in Sydney, I'd be spending most of the day and night computing.

/me suddenly realizes he's hooked too...

Is there a pill I can take do you suppose?
