[.91 Bugs and Feedback] a few of each

Bugs

- scout went up against the ice wildlands boss, staring contest when I hit autoplay.  Turns went back and forth.  The combat never ended.

 - renamed city, then magnar casted a spell to cause unrest there but it showed the original city name in his message to me that he was using a spell to cause unrest.  (I still have no idea which city he's casting on).

- in one game I had 5 fire shards.  I cast flame wave and it only occasionally worked.  The casting timer was running, the spell went off and showed the graphic, mana was deducted, and zero damage occured to any opponents.  This happened probably 80% of the time.

Feedback

- like the book of flames/stones/frost random appearing.  Great idea. more of that, also for quest rewards

- shouldn't plate mail also defend vs cutting??  Or is this a balance issue?

- gold deposits should be more common than they are now, though not as much as in .86

- like surrender mechanic for enemy soveriegns, but when they surrender they should do so in one of your cities instead of the middle of nowhere?  From a gameplay standpoint I think it makes more sense that they'd come to a city to contact you and pledge fealty.

Thanks for reading.

I have seen this too, that is hugely annoying and I am going to ignore "Flame Wave" until next patch.

"Like surrender mechanic for"...

Cant say I like this too much, they are way too agressive with the surrendering.
Have seen Magnar surrendering after I took one of his cities, and he had like 14 left... I had 7 cities at that point, Surrendering should be moderated somewhat, or the cities should become neutral, or he should surrender to another empire/kingdom. If none of those he should raze all nearby cities try to hide in the back while growing some power.

You make a good point here.  I hadn't tried asking them to surrender until their score went down to something like 40 (and I was sure they had no cities or at most 1 remaining).  My suggestion was merely that in the case of a surrender, they should do it in a place of civilization thereby spawning in a safe starting point.  I had Yithril surrender once when he got himself stuck in between a slag and a forest drake.  I had to send a champion down to rescue him.
