Sins Rebellion and Pirate upgrades options.

How Pirates could be even more effective or deadly...

The other night me and my gamer buddy (watooce) had a fricken great idea. How to make the Pirates just down right Nasty! What if the rats had a Orbital Cannon from one of the factions. But it would be random cannon every time you played the game. Also they would fire this cannon once the bounty hit a certain amount on the pirate raids bounty. Say like 10K or 20K, so as not to let people SPAM it. Have it also as option. To turn it off or on in the start up game room Options.

What about a slider bar option to set "Pirate Raid" times. Going from every 15 minutes in an hour. So raids could be set to 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes...

Players love options :)

So far I am lovin the beta! Great game guys and gals. Just hate Minidumps.

Thank you for reading this...

I don't think the deliverance engine would be very useful, however the kostura cannon could be pretty devastating if they shot it just before their raid and jumped straight to a back line / home world. I've played a few mods that give the pirates the ability to capture allied ships and structures such as the new TEC support ship did before the nerf, a custom capital ship, a starbase on their base and even colonize other planets.

On a similar note it may just be easier to have pirate strength as another game setting Weak/Normal/Enhanced/Powerful/Despotic

Well, orbital cannon sounds good, but perhaps something unique, because other factions need alot of research to get there super weapons makes no sense for pirate faction to have something so advanced, however maybe some old looking capital ships and a massive artillery installation on their home planet might work...

what if the cannon was a combination to the kostura cannon and deliverance engine. When fired it would broadcast that the target is about to get raided = causing fear in the enemy while shutting down orbital defenses and giving the pirates a buff from the targets fear and unwillingness to fight instead of flee.
