Visually Impaired & Need Assistance, Please

Need win7 high-visibility

I licensed WindowBlinds on advice of a Microwsoft MVP, and sure enoiugh WindowBlinds offers a dazzling array of choices and awesome skins, but after literally a hundred tries I have failed to accomplish my simple goal ...

I need a high contrast slider bar where, for instance the slider is a nice soft yellow and the bar (handle) is a contrasting green, red or black, etc.

The problem is, on everything I've tried, the slider bar is bright (invisible) and the handle, large or small, is thinly outlined and invisible until I luck upon it with the mouse (then it turns aa visible dcolor).

Problem is, with my nice 1920x1080 screens invisible is just invisible. Trying to guess the location of a 1/4 cm slider bar on a 30cm slider is simply beyond my visual ability. Please lend your expertise. I'm lost.

You might try a blind called STRATOS. It has a dark gray scroller background with a medium bright blue scroller. Quite easy to see. And, if the blue is no good for you, you could recolor the blind so it is any color you might like (say Red, Yellow, etc.)

Another that is VERY high contrast is Plastic Fantastic. Bright primary colors, easily differentiated.

are you saying you Rez is 1980x1080?

if so try a different rez like 1600x900

the 1920 will make text and stuff smaller and harder to see

my default res is 1920x1080 got it at 1600x900

you can also scroll with the arrow keys ... multi button mouse could scroll to left right up down

What skins have worked best for you?  What was wrong with them (for you)?

Maybe we can find one with all the benefits and none of the issues.

Zu, I'm not sure exactly what this person is asking. I'm assuming he is taking about the scroll bars on any skin. After eading this many time maybe he is talking about the sliders in WB because he/she keeps talking about sliders.

If it is skins and he/she has a certain one I would be happy to do the scroll bars with permission from the skin author in any colors he wants to make it so he can see them better. I take it when he/she moves their mouse they have to feel around so to speak till it highlights. Doc did mention about changing the color but that only changes the scrool bars to the color changed in the skin. Si I'm not really sure and will be happy to help if i can but need this person to come back and hopefully post exactly what they need.

It's great to get so much help. I'm onto a solution, I think thaat will not require any mods. It's the scroll bar/sliders (the rectangular mouse-grabber-handle and the horizontal or vertical strip of real estate it calls its own) that is my concern. They are mostly bright white on bright white. WindowBlinds has let me color some of the bars, but only after searching and finding it. A thin bar on a long web page is near impossible.

My three screens aare LED 24in size with 1920x1080 res, so I can't change res without losing real estate and definition. I tried at least 10 combinations of every skin in Windowblinds and found quite a few dazzling skins, but it's the sliders. I need a distinctively colored slider strip with a high contrast handle tab bar I don't have to find before it appears from obscurity.

Sorry I wasn't clearer (hope this is...) but I think my solution is to try and find the skins mentioned. Frankly, before Windowblinds I didn'y know what a skin was. Steep learning curve for an old squinty guy. Lost one eye and some of the one I kept. Appreciating vision like never before. I'll report on my progress after I try your generous suggestions. Education is a very fine gift.
