Per pixel effect not visible in WindowBlinds 7.3

Hi,

I just downloaded WindowBlinds 7.3 from CNet.com. I had always loved WindowBlinds and wanted to try the latest. Installed properly. But per pixel effect on window borders are missing. I have checked it in About WindowBlinds dialog. It says that your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins. But I can't see that glass border effect. Task bar is showing that effect even start menu panel is. But borders are totally opaque. Even no shadow is cast by windows. I applied force blur effect but nothing happens. I changed skin, went to wincustomize and got a couple of per pixel skins, but still nothing.

I have following config:

Intel core i-3 2100 @ 3.10 GHz
2 GB RAM
160 GB HDD
Intel HD Graphics 2000

Please help me out with this one,,,

Post a few screenshots of what you are seeing and the system information from within Windowblinds.

That may help.

I dont know how to insert a screen shot here. Inser image is asking for a url. file is on my computer.

I can only explain in words then. Imagine Aero skin of win7 or vista. only that transparency/blur effect on window frames is missing. Taskbar looks as it is. Window frames look completely opaque.

And btw, I forgot to mention. I have windows XP. the link provided by roflmaoo is about win7. Sorry I forgot to mention the OS.

looks like a paper plate in a snow storm..... ;)

you need to upload the image to a service like imageshack or photobucket and then paste the link here

Simple answer here. XP doesn't support Aero blur that's why the theme looks opaque. It's using UIS1 instead of UIS2 :). The taskbar is transparent but not blurry ? if so this would explain it.

wrong. Nothing to do with xp. I previously had window blinds 6.4, But had on-board Nvidia Geforce 6800 graphics. I had all sorts of effects and that was xp. Now I am starting to get scared because of the thought that Intel HD 2000 graphics may be too shitty for even such basic effects.

Here's the image link

You misunderstood my reply. XP doesn't support Aero blur which is correct it doesn't. It was introduced in Windows Vista, Windowblinds hosts a feature which imitates this blur. Does this happen with all windowblinds ?

The Trial version of WindowBlinds does not support per pixel frames on all skins and this is mentioned in the nag screen that comes up when you apply one.

I imagine this is the case if the about box is indicating support for per pixel frames.

Think about this way shades88...try Windowblinds for the thirty days. There are tons of skins for XP, literally, because Win 7 is a young whippersnapper compared to Windowblinds. Then, if you want, check out Objectdesktop and all the goodies that come with it including one full year of unlimited downloads and access to updates for that year. You can't beat the price dude and what you get for your money is a whole lot of bang. Also there are trial versions of Iconpackager, Dreamscapes, WindowFX, not to mention public versions of DesktopX, CursorFX and a few others. Believe me...if you're like us and want your desktop fully customized you'll go gaga for this. Oh...BTW...welcome to the WC shades88.
