chaz, the guy that ran LOS, had cable modem problems, and other complications. last i heard, the site was for sale on ebay, but i haven't heard anything else since then.

Jafo's right, skinning sites follow the same scientific maxims that comets do, namely - "they come... and they go...". This is known to be a repeating cycle so just be patient and in accordance with Fudd's Law of Universal Disorder surely it will return soon.....

Hmmmm. maybe its because i'm a relative newcomer so I don't have any ancient loyalites in place. But what's so special? I visit skin sites to get...skins. The ones with the most and best that are easiest to get are the ones I go to. So what's special about skinz.org? WinCusto and Deviantart do everything I need.

maybe your one of those ppl that only eat vanilla ice cream all the time, and never try chocolate and strawberry on occassion

(all the sites have different work submitted by diff ppl to them, so sometimes you miss some "great stuff" if you only sit on one site)

plus different moderators selecting and approving wallpapers that are posted can mean the wallpapers will also be more unique then on other sites too...

TheHampster...simply put, skinz.org was the most important and influential site during the early days of skinning's infancy. Most [if not all] of the current well-known skinners started/evolved/came through skinz.org.
Due to its heritage, it will always be seen as a special place....
