Beta Installation Trouble

Downloaded the beta setup file to my desktop. Double clicked to execute and <whistleing>???

My HDD light is breaking land speed records....my hourglass is spinning like crazy...but thats been going on for like 10 minutes. Is this normal? No installation screens on the beta? 

Computer wont let me do anthing else. If this is not normal i may have to do a hard shutdown but i'm afraid the beta will never load correctly then if it is indeed in the middle of something and hung up.

Help

Finally, after about 15mins, the Vista permission box popped up and asked for permission to run/install.  Very odd???

Hi just wanted to say i am having the same problem installing ver. .85 of FE.  I have windows vista 32 and a dual core processor.  its been about 20 min. so far and while my computer seems to be working nothing has happened

 Edit: Waited about 50 min and nothing.  Stopped it using task manager and tried to install .75 which i had previously downloaded but never installed and the same thing happened.

 Edit 2: tried running as administrator, same thing.

I have Vista and it took at least an hour for the 0.75 beta to get to the permission stage.  First time I cancelled it after about 30 minutes.  It then takes quite a few minutes to install but I would not say extremely long.

Fortunately uprgrading from to beta 0.77, 0.85 and 0.86 only took less than a minute.

Well i got the game installed. I don't know how long it took to get to the permission request because I started it working and left the house for a couple of hours.  But when I returned it was asking permission to install.  From there is installed and ran just fine (for about an hour).

 

I've seen on the forums that this has happened to a small number of people and it seems like the kind of thing that should be resolved before the beta is finished.  Please let me know if any information I have could be helpful.

after starting installer with admin rights, I am now waiting as well since 20 mins already...no permission prompt still.

using quad core cpu 3.2 gh, 4gb ram, win 7 on 64 bit

There does seem to be a delay for installing. I would make sure to use the Stardock Central software to install all Stardock games. It is much smoother.
