What's up, DC? Is this because of the post the other day?

I know most if not all will be glad.
End of quote

I, for one, would not be glad. A community draws strength and develops through the individuality of its members. People leaving the community only serves to weaken it and limit its diversity. I believe that most if not all would agree with me. ;)

PM me if you'd like.

Jeff, we all step on someones toes from time to time. Don't make a hasty decision that you may regret later. Sleep on it and weigh your options. I, for one, see no reason for you to leave! :meow: <3

Hey DC ...... what's up dude? Want to talk? PM me. No reason to pull up stakes over a single post, assuming of course that's the problem. Step back, take a deep breath and think ...... do you 'really' want to leave WC? I doubt it. Stick around for a bit. You're not the first nor will you be the last to drop the ball. I did a time or two but a wise ole' Doc stepped up and set me straight. Don't worry about it, this too shall pass just like shits and giggles. Besides .... where else are ya gonna find a monitor that looks like it wants to gobble you all up.

No. The guy asked a question, this is the correct answer. What is the joke?  o_O     :P

If you mean that I am not going all out to talk him out of leaving, well, hey, it's his decision. I don't want people to leave WC, nor do I want them to stay against their will. I guess he has his reasons. I'm only answering his question.

please stop your intention to delete the skins ...

some time ago my personal solution was to dedicate the most of my few spare time skinning for the gallery and very much less talking in the forum :-" ;)

I would not be glad to see you go either DC. Please stay. :)

If a member hasn't decided one way or another and feels he or she wants to discuss matters, then pm'ing one's friends is the preferrable choice.

Announcements aren't really designed to do more than elicit efforts to persuade to stay and can be done via pm as can any address request.

I don't advocate 'announcements' as they are also meant to evoke wider negativity because "misery loves company"(usually). The choice has usually been made by the member already, so it's at best redundant and at worst only seeks to find out who likes the member or ignores him/her or cause further negativity that way as well.

When a final decision is reached by the member, again... pm is the way to go: It's more considerate to spare everyone the "drama". But then, "announcements" really aren't about that, are they?

well im a compassionte human being, if someone is tempted to leave, and makes a post, im gonna make sure as hell i tell them i dont want them to leave.

and i have seen many people been persuaded to stay (including myself) after countless people saying dont go.

more of a posative outcome if you ask me.

WOW !! Somebody must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I see posts from people here who are in the "clique" that stir up drama and at best very insulting and demeaning to other innocent and upstanding members, yet nothing is said except maybe a little tap on the wrist.  I believe DC is torn by this situation. He loves the skinning community but is experiencing some negative emotional battles that he is trying to reconcile. Forums are a good place to vent sometimes to maybe get some feedback in weighing what your final decision should be. It appears to me that the management is saying "go ahead and leave, who cares"...........that's just wrong in my book and it saddens me to have to read something like this. Very disappointed. v_v

et all
End of DrJBHL's quote

everyone is different and everyone will express themselves in whatever manner they feel is appropriate. While I'm never one to assume anything, to make an assumption is well just that, an assumption.

I do assume that we still enjoy free speech within these forums within some limits, it should be okay to state yourself however you desire. You're the one that's going to have to live with it after all.

DC, I didn't get a chance to see the original post, must have been entertaining by the comments. Sleep on it, dude.

Doc, the other post is locked: you indicated that religion and polictics were limited to JU forums. I responded about the "science and god" post that we see here at WC. Which you replied in part, "Not posted from WC". This post is a religious post and does not meet the crossover requirements that was mention here. You all have the ability to change the label and have this post regulated back to JU, why you choose not to is beyond my understanding.

Unfortunately. that has always been the attitude here and what keeps me away from the forums as a whole. I see quite a bit of downright mean and spiteful things directed at folks all the time and it is "just wrong". If someone feels the need to express there frustration or to disagree with someone else, as long as they are respectful, they should have that right! :meow: >_>

"You all" is only Stardock personnel can regulate back to JU. Moderators do not have that ability.

The other post is locked as the op decided to remove the original content and insert "DELETE THIS POST" in place of, which defeats the intent of the original post and the comments.

I don't believe Doc's comment suggested that DC "go if you want to". Unless someone here can read his mind better than I can.

Nobody wishes to see any member leave under a misunderstanding.

Let's hope that DC reads his pm's and chooses to stay here.

That is correct.

A question regarding "How to delete" could have been pm'd to a Moderator and a factual answer would have been received.

I stand by what I wrote.

This is all so terribly wrong and everyone

E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E

has overreacted.

You can come and bitch at me in PM as I am not going to get into it here and drag it out further.

Understand, you won't like what I have to say when you get there but if we're friends you know I have an ass-hat stapled to my head and it's nothing personal.

In the meantime, this needs to die now. IMHO.

And that's all I have to say on it in open forum.

you as in stardock, not Seth personally.

Moderators and Stardockians try to not get involved unless there is something egregious going on.

Someone leaving for whateverr reason sucks (unless we kick them out . . Then they can suck it.)

If they want to publicize it they can expect responses from all over the spectrum.  That's how WC rolls.

If you want to use the public forum or the private forum, that's cool too . .as long as it's polite (-ish).

My thoughts?  If you need time away, take it.  I've left for months at a time and once for almost a year.  The good people here brought me back.  Leave your skins in any case; it's a bitch to put them back.

Hey DC, there was a time when I felt like leaving for one or two reasons, but after a couple of months of abstinence I just had to log back in to see how all my friends were doing and find out what was new.  I've known others who did pretty much the same thing and came back after a break, so I suggest you do the same and see how you feel in a week or three... take a month or two if you like.

Now you and I may not have had a lot to say to each other in recent times, but I will say this, some of your posts have given me a good giggle and I'd miss that if you were to pack up and leave altogether.   Besides, Frogboy said some time back that anyone who got in a huff, pulled their skins and left would not be allowed back... and that would be a tragedy if at some point later you changed your mind.

So there you have it, I don't want you to leave, either, okay.

And a factual answer was received in reply 6. Just saying, but yeah, PMing a mod would have been better...keeps down the drama.
