Camera issues

Hi all

Coming out of Forum hibernation to see if I can help with the Beta.

Very impressed so far, got up to turn 25(ish) last night and covered the tutorial.

The tutorial wasn't that good but the main game seems much improved.

I did notice the camera wont stick if you turn it. So i can only ever have it at one angle, surely that's a bug?

As has been mentioned before there is no edge scroll.

Also, in the battles, the tool tip which comes up when you hover over a unit is very intrusive and sporadic. It flashes on and off very quickly and covers a proportion of the battlefield. My personal opinion with this is to find an apropriate place for it and have it always appear there (on the side of the screen) rather than absolutely position relative to the on hover element (I'm a web programmer not a games programmer so that might be the wrong terminology

Good work Star Dock. So far im impressed, looking forward to how the game copes with mid and late game.

I also have the camera not locking once rotated bug/issue.

I also say well done so far, great start!

I wonder if this is intentional? There was some talk a while back about having the camera snap back to a default angle after rotating. I thought there was going to be a menu option for it, but haven't checked.

This is actually an option that is turned on/off. I have no idea why anyone would not want full control of the camera, but I keep that off. I presume that by snapping back, you always know where north is, which sometimes comes up in quests etc.

Yep this exactly, even when various events happen on the map, like an improvement is destroyed, the game pop up message references it's position in your territory (as an example I had an air shard destroyed, and it specifically told me it was in the southwest).  Makes navigation to events really convenient, plus I don't really mind the locked camera since it's on a toggle, can just turn it off when I need to then back on later.
