What do YOU want to see in WinFX 5?

Hopefully the Stardock Developers can see this post...

Anyway, "What would you like to see in Windows FX 5"?

  1. I for one would love a workstation/expose that Ubuntu and Mac OS have. That is a great feature and it helped me in productivity. I hate having a messy workspace, especially on a laptop. Also, make some simple key command to go along with it. Ctrl + Alt + Arrow would be nice.
  2. Another thing I would like is having sticky windows. When you "throw" a window that has momentum, I think it would be awesome to have the aero snap feature to go along with it instead of having it bounce off. I.e. Throw it upwards, without hitting the top of the screen with your cursor, and it will maximize.
  3. One thing I found interesting was an application of Linux OSs where the windows behave like a "Jell-O" like substance. When you would move the windows, the bottom would, behave like, oh Jell-O being swung? IDK. It just was fun to play with.

Post your interesting or creative thoughts below, and maybe we will see some of these ideas in the future!

Released. That's all I ask for, a release version.

From what I see in the preview, it's all I need!    :dur: :dur: :dur: :dur: :dur:

How about a desktop right-click menu entry to enable/disable or configure WFX? Something like what DeskScapes and DX uses but ......*with the option to show it in the menu or not.

*A  feature I'd like to see in DX, DS, and all software, for that matter.

I like the sound of windows snapping to the edge after flicking them across the screen from the momentum. I also like the idea of configure WFX from the desktop context menu as wizard suggested.

I would like to see option to tweak "wobbly windows" to make more wobbly or more stiff and to be able to meld the "wobbly window" with certain other entrance and exiting effects like the "slide from left" and "slide to right".

I would like to see animation option for minimize & maximize that can animate windows according to their real positions in taskbar (like native Windows anim does).

How about themed effects?

Well we all can set our effects to our liking but is it possible to script a theme of animations.

For example, I think it would be neat for my window to act like an old tube TV.

  • Opening a window would simulate turning the TV on, the screen opens a little wobbly and the picture is a little shrunk but slowly grows to full size.
  • Close is Off where the screen shrink from top and bottom and meets in a horizontal line.
  • For Min/Max could be like the fine tuning where the picture gets blurred and wobbly during each action.
  • A step further (and I am not sure if this possible) using the back and forward buttons to simulate changing the channel.
  • Tie this all in with SoundPackager for the sound effects.
  • Then the Author could turn it into a theme for upload.

I guess there could be a tons of other features to think about. I don't know? Im I getting ahead of myself here?

Anyway I think Themed Effects would be a cool addition.

Side note. If this is possible, I haven't seen it.

There is a scripting feature and a gallery with currently scripted animations. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you mean by your post elvee but it's worth a look

I would like to see a feature allowing you to ignore specific applications.

On a particular site, there is a popup window despite being blocked by my popup blocker it still displays the open animation followed directly by the close animation. The application in question is Aurora. I excluded aurora from the animation and now it flashes quickly instead of playing the animation. I guess it's just a fault of the site rather than WFX itself.
