IP Package Builder is driving me nuts !!

Icons not displaying properly

I will try not to confuse everyone here or get too long winded. I've decided to step up to the plate and create an entire IP this time around. I had never loaded an IP before, so thanks to Vampothika for her kind and patient instructions on how to do so. But herein lies the problem... some of the icons that are assigned in the package builder seem to not want to display as they are assigned. For example : I have 2 different icons for the "Favorites" , one is Favorites(Internet Explorer) and the other is Favorites(Windows Explorer) but it will only display whatever icon I assign to Favorites(IE) for both of them. Same for the "Search" and "Searches" assignments, it will only display whatever icon I assign for the "searches" function for both. Also, I notice that the UI for the Package builder is that of the XP OS and therefore doesn't allow me to assign some of my custom icons to most of the internal Control Panel icons.(at this point I should probably mention that I'm using Win.7 x64 as my OS) I have many custom icons to replace those, but it doesn't do me any good if I can't get them out there for people. I'm very perplexed and frustrated. As I am relatively new to the skinning world, I still have lots to learn from you folks here at WC. Hope you can help. Thank-you.     -- Ace --

Sailor walks into a bar....with a ship's wheel down the front of his trousers...

Barman says "Do you realise you have a ship's wheel down the front of your pants?"

The sailor replies "Yes...it's driving me nuts." ...;)

I guess perhaps I may have come to the wrong place for help. My apologies. I will look elsewhere.

Patience, grasshopper. The forums aren't as used during the weekend as they are during the week, for obvious reasons (working week is over and people are kicking back and taking a break.) Bump the thread if you need to, but don't write things off so soon. I can't help you, as I'm in much the same position as you, so I'll be watching this thread for answers myself. ;)

Yes....give it a little time....  I don't use IP otherwise I would have avoided the gag and solved it for you...;)

I think you should strip that down to a clear, concise bug report and post it in the IconPackager Support forum (if there is such a thing)

There, the devs are almost sure to see it and maybe it can be looked into. Now that SD is refocused on Desktop apps, maybe IP can get a little love.

I love the software but it does have a few quirks. :-"

I've never tried building a package but I use them all the time, so anything that will help you and others create more Icon Packages has got to be a good thing. ;)

P.S. Good one, Jafo.

Thank-you all for your responses. I was a bit concerned that I may not be in good standing with folks here, so I do appreciate your guidence in this matter. As you have mentioned Wizard , this may be something that needs to be addressed to support. Thank-you.                  -- Ace --

IconPackager confusing Icons after changing/creating IconPackages is a common problem, never solved.

Thanks c242 , that's interesting information. In a bizzare way it makes me feel better that perhaps I'm not such a big goof-up as I thought.       -- Ace --
