Pale Moon and WindowBlinds issue

special arrangements for Pale Moon?

Well, WindowBlinds is not compartible with Pale Moon.

Now, I have got 2 choices: add Pale Moon to the exclusion list of WB , or disabling the browser HW acceleration.

I see that everything works fine with Firefox , that means, of course, that Stardock has made some special arrangements in WB skinning engine to make it compatible with Firefox.

I know Pale Moon is still a lot less popular than Firefox (though I prefer Pale Moon, for many reasons) , but his users number is quickly increasing, especially in the last year..

Could it be done something to make WB Pale Moon compatible as well?

What is your problem with WB and Pale Moon, be specific as you can. To say it is not compatible with out indicating what the problem is does not allow some of the other users to possibly help rectify the problem

I do not have a problem with it my Pale Moon version 8.0 and WB

Thanks for you reply.

well, I can get Pale Moon skinned as well (Pale Moon 8), but I need disabling HW acceleration (Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration where possible" ).

Otherwise, when hardware acceleration is on there is a rather hard conflict that makes the pages flicker and scrolling impossible.

Have you got HW acceleration enabled or not ?

For what it's worth I have Pale Moon's hardware acceleration enabled and am skinning it in Windowblinds.  But, that's on XP and somewhat ancient hardware, though video drivers are completely current.

You need to update to the latest version of Windowblinds......this was taken care of one or 2 revisions ago. I use Pale Moon 8 with no issues

Well, I got WB 7.3 - Win7

I deleted Pale Moon from the WB exclusion list, but still got a few problems , but not so serious as reported before...I unchecked HWacceleration and everything went ok; applied another blind, re-enabled HW acceleration and now EVERYTHING works fine...

Hope it's definitely solved....

Oh, problem is still there, on a side...

When I opened Pale Moon with HW acceleration enabled got a few problems: scrolling was slow and visualization not stable; so I disalbed HW acceleration and everything went OK. Then I re-enabled HW acceleration , and everything worked fine until the browser was open.

After I close Pale Moon and open it ; got same problem ...I had to disable HW acceleration and re-enabling it again:Everything fine until the browser is open..

What can I do to definitely "fix" this ?  Has the issue been solved in WB 7.3 or not ?

WB 7.3 Win7

Pale Moon 8 working fine here but what is the advantage over FF 3.6? To me PM8 is about the same. Is it more secure? Speed seems the same.

Oh, there is Pale Moon 3.6 as well... but no HW acceleration implemented. Pale Moon is quite much lighter on resources than FF; for what I know with 3.6 sites that use a lot of overlaid layers and similar are slower . No other advantage other than that

It's way faster Chasbo ... There is a 3.6.27 version of pale moon if you like FF 3.6

Here same probem...I need disabling and re-enabling HW acceleration. At the moment I'm disabling it just before closing the browser and enabling when opening again

@ Chasbo -

Even the more recent and future HTML5 code used from some sites will be no longer supported from version 3.6

2 Days with Pale Moon 8 and no problems. Yes, sometimes it does seem faster. I've set it for the default. I think I'm becoming a convert.

I've been very happy with PM8 & it skins nicely.  Only complaint is that all the IE Tab plugins have a habit of crashing frequently (I have to use Outlook Web Access for a couple of accounts routinely & it doesn't display correctly or have the same functionality in PM/FF as it does in IE).  The IE Tab plugins never crash on XP/IE8, so I suspect it's a Win7/IE9 issue.

Yeh, I think you could be right. I thought the same too...One friend of mine has got an XP SP3, WB 6.4 and no problem at all with PM8.  Hardware issue probably..
