Solved: Preview in icons doesn't work if applications are switched (not minimized)

Taskbar dock

System: Windows 7 64-bit

Can somebody confirm if this is a bug in the taskbar dock with only 'Running applications'. When an application is minimized, the window of that app is minimized to the icon.

In this example, the icons with a circle have been minimized

But if an application is running and opened, the preview doesn't work. In the example above, Chrome doesn't have a preview because that's where I'm typing this post. Now, most people don't minimize their windows to switch applications, they just switch. But OD doesn't activate the preview iconif another application is selected. So in the example above, if switch from Chrome to Explorer, the Chrome icon will remain the same (no preview). But since I opened Explorer, the preview will stay disabled. So all the previews are eventually deactivated.

Am I missing something and there's a hidden option I can't find? Is this a known bug? If so, is there an update on its status?

The preview option is for minimized windows only and can be turned off so you just have icons only.

Right but (I think) many of us choose to replace the Windows taskbar with OD but given this limitation, we have to choose between previews and OD.

My mistake, there is an option:

On my dock > Taskbar options > Display windows as thumbnails
