Ads stops WinCustomize.com

Hi, There is an advertisement preventing https://www.wincustomize.com/ from loading. The ad itself won't load but it puts a black box in the center of the screen and grays the rest of the page. It happened last night or maybe this morning and just now. I wasn't logged into wincustomize either time and I cleaned all of my caches earlier today. I got past it by pressing F5, but most people probably don't know they can press F5 and new visitors might think WC is just a bad web page.

The ad for Best Buy appears to have been removed.  I had the same problem this morning and used the F5 key to get around it.

Can I get pizza instead? (not that I'd get to actually see any because of a certain *someone* ;) ).

It's just that yesterday I removed [at last count] 65 thread comments and 14 people.  It got kinda busy....

Oh....there were wedding dresses too, as I recall....;p

Dunno 'bout the look....some Philipino in a wedding dress and uggboots......

Looking at some of these AM times being posted I think some of you should get a life and go to bed. Of course it could be converting to my AM time and you posted at other times.

I thought if we buy a subscription to WC there wouldn't be any ads. I have a minimum of three ads on each page and it's really slow loading.

My WC subscription is paid through 1/9/2013. Can these ads be removed?

Log out, clear your browser cache, and log back in. Usually, this will help.

AdBlock is my friend. :P

Ads are still there. I use FF with ad block and they don't show up but they do in IE.

Here is the quote from the renew subscription email sent 1/24/2012 (I had already renewed):

"One of the new features with a WinCustomize Subscription is that subscribers will have ad-free browsing. Those annoying ad banners go away, freeing up screen space to view skins."

They are very annoying... particularly when I pay to have them gone.

  :karma:

Adblock doesn't play nice with FF

It's mostly some type of browser issue.  Adblock is not friendly with WC, and again, I remind people that ads are one of the main ways WC supports itself.

Blocking them only takes away income from the site.

My point: I paid to have the ads removed.

I don't use ad block on the WC site since I use IE to access it. The adds are still there even though I paid to have them removed.

Can you be more specific about the type of "browser issue" it may be?

Usually it's a cache or cookies issue.  It's usually best to use an app like CCleaner to completely clear your browsers out.

Hey.

Looks like there was a glitch in the matrix when you renewed.  It should be resolved within fifteen minutes of this post.

Log out and back in and let me know if it's still an issue.
