Turn stuck on my suicidal game

I am getting stuck in turn transition phase.  Ive read the reports on a ship not having finished its moves, but I have already addressed this and it still does not work.

I am able to complete the turn in only one way,  i must reload the game,  end turn, save game .  Reload game end turn again and save and repeat this for every turn.  Otherwise after ending one turn the game gets stuck in the turn transition.

Very aggravating because i do not want to restart my file,  my first suicidal game and I am doing very well, just about to make my first major offensive after manipulating the AI races through diplomacy keeping them all at war.

I would like to play my file without having to reload after every turn.  I was receiving a incorrect message about some ships saying they were out of range, but i know this is not the case.  All of exploring ships that go away from my own influence at the moment are fitted with enough support to cover the entire map, yet these same ships were receiving the message, not sure if this is relevant. (I scuttled all of these ships hoping it would fix the problem, but it did not.)

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit:

I now discovered another problem, which is probably the cause.  All of my fleets, even the ones sitting directly outside of my planets are all saying out of range and must autopilot back into ship range.  Which is complete bogus, before this problem started that was not an issue, and i have made no changes to my ships

This is on v 2.03 of twilight of arnor expansion.

I do get the range problem too.

Probably you are reloading the game during the AIs' turn. Especially after the AI did something you did not want them to do. They probably put that in to prevent cheating (in a way).

No the ai have done nothing i did not want them to do.  I did not reload until the problem occured, in an attempt to fix it.

The problem started randomly after i started the game up and loaded my save i had been playing over past few days.

And it is a single player game,  even if i did want to cheat, the developers do not mind someone playing the game they paid for how they want.

Unfortunately for the ai, i do not need to cheat to mop the floor with them.

And i am not reloading during ai turn.  I have only been reloading to saves where it is my turn.

Since there is a hard cap on range, unless you effectively cover the map with your influence, there can still be pockets (which your survey ships are likely to find) that you may not technically have enough range for, even if you have sufficient components on the ships in question.  But this probably isn't relevant to your situation, since you've stated other out-of-range problems.

If you're getting an out-of-range message when your ships are next to your planets, then you've probably been hit by the Plague Mega Event, which reduces all abilities to effectively zero.  Strange you haven't also complained about not being able to form fleets/build big ships though, as those would occur as well due to logistics being reduced.

If this is not the case then I would suggest exiting the game and restarting it; sometimes, primarily with regards to memory usage, this will fix the issue.  You don't say how long you've been playing on this session of GC2; apologies if you've already tried that.

Out of curiosity, how long have you waited for the turn to complete?  If the turns do complete eventually, but just take forever to do so, that's likely also a symptom of needing to restart GC2.

Hope some of that helps.

Thanks for your more constructive reply.

And yes i did try restarting the game.  And no, the plague event had not happened.  I had many 59 logistic fleets, and yes my influence is spread over well, a surrendering empire gave me planets smack in the middle of the map.  And i let the turn sit to finish for some time,  a good 5 minutes or so while i took a smoke break, but to no avail.

I have played a good bit of galactic civ over the years, off and on.  Ive never had a turn transition last for more than 30 seconds, and that is only when im being show ai movies.  I usually play on the much harder difficulties, with huge / gigantic / immense maps with max players and max minor races, so I am pretty confident the turn will not complete.

Hopefully stardock will reply to my email concerning it.

I just hope i dont have to restart my suicidal game.  Three major empires have already been wiped out,  and one empire has double the military of the next strongest.  Was turning out to be a very interesting game, littered with perpetual warfare caused by manipulation : (.

Update:

It seems now that the sensor range problem did not occur when i loaded it up.  It previously did every time i started the game yesterday.  However the problem still persists with the end turn function.  I have destroyed all ships that were on auto explore / auto upgrade previously just to see if that was the problem.  The only ships left are all of my fleets, which are outside planets / solar systems in my influence not moving; and traders on trade route.  And docked ships.
