WB7 Will Not Work

Hi, I recently installed the trial version of WindowsBlinds 7 and it has not worked correctly. When I click to apply a skin it does its loading thing and after it's done that it only shows a Windows Classic Theme. The only skin that will work for me is Aero Style. I am currently running Windows 7 64 Bit. Again any other skin except Aero (which I already have Windows 7) shows up as Windows Classic and it will not change what so ever.

Make sure you install as an administrator and disable any security software prior to installing.  Reinstall and see if that works.

Maybe they haven't changed the trialware version on the download site yet? Jeff suggested there might be a 'kill date' issue....

Also, did you ever have the trialware edition before?

Yeah, the trial is what I'm trying to install. If it actually worked I'd buy it. :(

And apparently the trial is updated so I don't really know what's wrong.

It says it's installed correctly, and you're sure it's never been installed on that computer before. Are you the Administrator on this computer? Try running Windowblinds as the "Administrator".

Have you ever had msstyles or visual styles on that computer? If not, you'll need to send an email to support@stardock.com for help.

Write once only. Do not answer the autoreply, and wait until an actual person replies. If you write before that, your request will be sent to the end of the queue.

If you have had msstyles (or still have it) uninstall it, and using the elevated command prompt (run cmd as Administrator) type in sfc /scannow

to restore the Windows system file it hacked.

WB just did an update to fix the problem with Win7 not applying skin after reboot. Maybe you are not getting that update with the trial version at present. -- Ace --

If you go to C:Program Files\Programs (x486)\Object Desktop\Stardock\Windowblnds are there files in there? Can you double click on wbload.exe? Can you open it that way? If you double click on wbconfig.exe, will it open the config window?
