Describe it a little more. I don't know what you mean by transparent folders.

think I found some in desktopX ... I want to make it so that the blankspace, maybe even to a lesser degree the icons in a folder that you open are transparent, so that you can see the desktop.
I am new to the whole idea but like it, so I am giving it a go

You mean transparent (where you don't see the icons anymore) or translucent (where you can see through the windows, but can still see the windows)? The latter one can only be done in Win2000 (don't know about XP) and requires a program like WindowFX or Transperizer or so.

Making explorer windows (or any other windows) somewhat transparent requires windowfx or transperizer. DesktopX can't do it on it's own.

Do you mean like this?: https://www.stardock.com/products/windowfx/winfx-apr00.jpg
