Position of Running Applications

Is there an option to change the position of current running applications? My dock is positioned bottom-center and I see that all of my running applications default to the right side of my dock. I would like to change it so running applications go to the left side of the dock. Thanks in advance.

configure dock

dock contents tab

taskbar replacement > drop down arrow to choose left/right
