New file not in the desktop?

Hi

I've been using fences quite a bit in my old laptop; got a new one and trasferred a lot of file on the new desktop immediately, all good; the day after I realized that if I try to move a file from a folder to the desktop, it arrives in the desktop but it is nowhere to be found! It is physically there, 100%, but I can't see it!

strange...

Any ideas?

Ciao

Have you tried unhiding Fences and unhiding Windows Desktop i.e. right click, view, show desktop items. It seems such a basic thought that i thought might help

I uninstalled fences, restart the PC (brand new by the way), reinstalled fences and all is back to normal...very strange, not even sure it was fences...i'll update here if it represents, and if it does, i'll try what you suggested...

thanks for your time

Nope, after a few hours it is not ok...i tried your suggestion, but there is no reason why it should behave like this, i used fences confortably for long time...maybe i'll try an older version...

End of roby1978a's quote

Problems with software received on a computer OEM, should be addressed with the computer company (even though it's SD software). That's because the computer company (hp, Dell, Toshiba, etc.) may have made changes in that software specific to the company.

Hi all, having the same issue here since I installed fences (HP ProBook with Win 7 Enterprise x64).  Found a similar post on this forum here: https://forums.stardock.com/355478 but no solution was found.

I tend to save quite a few files to my desktop to move them later on but since installing fences, everytime I save a file to the desktop, it is nowhere to be found.  Can see it when I go through Windows Explorer but even enabling and disabling Fences doesn't show it up anywhere.  Thought it might be in the background behind the fences somewhere but no sign of it.  Only way I can get the files to show is to uninstall Fences completely and return the Desktop back to normal Windows operation or else drag the file from Explorer into another folder and then back into one of the Fences on the Desktop.

There is even no context to be able to save a file into a certain fence on the desktop.  Anyone know what is wrong because for such a good program, this frustratingly lets it down!
