GalCiv2 Ultimate Edition

So I downloaded the ultimate edition with impulse on my laptop, but it doesn't work right on my desktop so I used a flashdrive and copied it over, I found the serial key, but when I try to register it says "Invalid Product"

Did you archive and restore from the flashdrive, or just move a folder over?  It would just be advisable to install Impulse on the PC and install from there.

can someone help me i have tried everything i can think of and i cant get game to start it shows a black screen then get message it has experienced a problem and needs to close, i have updated in stardock and i have tried uninstalling game and reinstalling but still wont play

I've been experiencing the same problem with the ultimate pack. the GC2launcher.exe fails when trying to load something from the Twilight of arnor pack. If you use the Galciv2.exe you can start galciv2, set up the variables, pick races, etc, but it crashes with the same error when you attempt to start the new game. Likewise if you use the .exe file in the Twilight of Arnor files, it gives you teh same crash. I've tried the same, uninstalling and reinstalling, and the 3rd time, i caught a brief msg telling me to insert disk5 before it flashed past. Wasn't paying that close attention the 1st 2 times, so dont know if it was just a one time or all 3x.

I'm thinking its a problem with their game image you download, not all the files are there?

Have you tried running the game in Windows XP compatibility mode?

I have GCII and both expansions all running correctly from a recent install on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.  Although I did not have to set them to run in XP compatibility mode.

I had issue with laptop when i started game and got only black screen. I originally thought it's Win7 related but it turned out i have incorrect setting in c:\Users\USER\Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\Prefs.ini and it was resolution (fullscreen + higher than laptop was able to show). Changing it to something compatible fixed my error.
