new firefox 4 incompatible with windowblinds?
The new Firefox 4 is out, and seems to be incompatible with Windowblinds. No matter which skin I use, the slide on the right-hand side of Firefox disappears.
Please help.

Jonathan, it shouldn't do that. Have you tried resizing the window?
Also, try looking at View>Page style>Basic in firefox.
How recent is your Windowblinds? (post the information in the 'About Windowblinds' tab in the WB Config window, please).
Also, could this be a conflict in a Windows/Hebrew OS? Or in the view settings (try UTF 8).
It's working fine for me and has been since the 3 or 4th beta. Do you have the most recent version installed?
Open the Windowblinds Config > About Windowblinds > Copy to Clipboard > paste information into a response.
Working fine for me here too on FF4.
FF4 and Windowblinds are playing nice together.
I'm having the same problem as Jonathan, and scrolling locks up entirely...
bodkin, please do what I asked of jonathangolan... post the info under the 'about windowblinds' tab in the WindowBlinds Config window.
That's odds bodkin. ![]()
Might be helpful to know what extensions you both use.

i believe most likely all problems would be eliminated if you totally removed the old FF 3.6.15 completely, when uninstalling it will ask you if you want to keep your personal settings say NO remove them. However before doing this Make and store a copy of all your bookmarks in a different location I.E. like a on a flash drive. You can then download FF4 and install this of course means you will have to again install all the extensions, plugins, and themes/persona again and tweak to like you had your previous 3.6.15 FF
I had problems with FF4 when I updated over the old FF and I did the above and no longer have any problems., with FF 4
Same problem here, title bar not skinned and I can scroll only with the mousewheel, but this happens only if firefox window is maximised.
Try disabling Adblock Plus for WC and get rid of NoScripts.
Disabling Adblock Plus and NoScript makes no difference. Did you mean uninstall them? The scroll bar does not paint in the first window that is opened - if i open a second window, it almost crashes firefox.
Try uninstalling the BetterPrivacy as well.
Yes...uninstall.
Since installing firefox 4.0, my computer crashes when I am using the browser.
Unknown if this is being caused by the incompatibility. I have placed firefox on my windowblinds exclusion list.

ff4 is giving your computer indigestion. Luckily, you can try running the x32 ff4, if you're of a mind to try. And try to live without the extensions which are possible the cause of a lot of these troubles.
I uninstalled all my add-ons but the problem did not go away....
Try what I posted, I know it is a PITA but by completely removing the OLD FF what ever version and doing a complete install of FF4 instead of an upgrade over the top of your OLD FF. I think everything will work, of course you will have to replace all the Add ons and themes and extensions you had previously. Save your book marks to a flash drive or on your desktop so you do not loose all of them as you can import them once FF 4 is working for you.
I've had problems with FF3.6.xx locking up/crashing on attempting to open a 4th to 5th tab or so for awhile now, even after a complete uninstall and re-install of FF. Same issue when I was using FF4beta10 (haven't tried later betas or the release version yet). Appears unique to this particular notebook, which has had no add-ons installed except IETab 2.
FF3.6.xx has never locked up or crashed regardless of the number of open tabs on two other machines I have, one a notebook and one a desktop, both with IETab 2 and AdBlock Plus; the desktop also has NoScript. Seems machine-specific rather than add-on specific to me. Interestingly, the machine that has had the problem with FF crashing is the only one of the three to have had IE8 installed, and the problem only began after the IE8 install... scratches chin
.
EDIT: Just remembered all 3 machines also have Back-To-Top installed.
Back to top could be the probles.
Maybe try the trick we use with WB: Take the folder w/settings for ff4 and save it elsewhere w/diff name (you'll give it back it's correct name later), and uninstall ff4 and all other ff's you might have...all folders/extensions. etc.
Reboot and then put the settings folder back after reinstalling ff4.
See if that works (also...no "Back to top").
Not sure that's the case. Only one of the three machines has the problem but all three have Back-to-Top. The only thing unique to the 'problem' machine is IE8. Setups are essentially the same on the other machines otherwise (with minor variations in the two).
Uninstalling firefox and doing a clean install of Firefox 4 hasn't helped in my case....
If your whole PC crashes when running FireFox4 then it is probably a buggy video driver issue. FireFox 4 uses hardware acceleration for rendering and this means your video drivers are now doing more than before.
Are you on XP too?
Which skin are you using?
I quickly checked WB on XP with firefox4 and I have not encountered any problems with scrolling.
