How about a Source Section?

How about a Source Section?

I am at the moment redesigning my FauxS-X Project website, so I can realase most of my FauxS-X Source files, CorelDRAW, Photoshop, and PNG files for use by others, I have gotten some really positive feedback at this Idea, and am looking forward to seeing what comes of my source.

What I am wondering is would wincustomize.com be interested in making a “source” section so other authors would have a place to post the source files. I know some people are rather protective of their work, me included, but I think making a source section for those of us who are willing to share, some or all of our source files/images, might lead to an explosion of quality objects, made by people who don’t normally post.

Thoughts on this?

I think that most people they don't even know what source is and how to use it, that's why you don't get any thoughts about it. I like your idea and your will to share your works with others.

I think it's a great idea. For myself, one the artisticly challenged, it would be really useful to see how others do what they do.

We've used adobe illustrator in my graphics class and I have a graphics design class this upcoming semester. Your wonderful work would be truly invaluable to an unworthy beginner such as myself.

i think this will just create problems with rips...

people will change one bit, or apply a filter and claim it as their own

At least for your image files you can use the 'Graphics' section. Thats what it was intended for as to be a source repository for images.

Depends on how big you make it. I'm not sure off hand what our size restrictions are but 1MB is a good size. But 2MB I think would be stretching it.

Also try to come up with a screenshot that gives some idea of the contents of the zip file(s).
