Blogging Ennui

Ok, I haven't been posting as often as I used to post. I have received a (very) few messages requesting posts. Part of the reason I haven't been posting is just work stuff, but to be honest the biggest part has just been blog ennui.

Basically, I have just been bored with the whole thing. Between the time it takes to write an article, the effort it takes to track what should be noted, and the obvious lack of reader interest indicated by the number of comments, I just haven't felt compelled to write much.

That being noted for those few who have requested a post, I am currently in Lebanon, IN. I fought my way through the latest Winter storm to pick up my load and am now on my way to a warmer climate in Florida.

I spent some time in the watering hole here, chatting with a few fellow truckers and having some decent BBQ. When the Tuesday night talent started, (open mic night) I fired up my iPad and enjoyed the music I have stored on it. The local  "talent" sucks shit through a paper straw.

There have been some other recent events, incidents, and happenings, but to be honest I just don't feel like writing about them right now.

Perhaps it is time for me to consider bringing this blog to a close. I will give it some thought.

Hi,  while I certainly do not comment on your blogs except for rarely, I do enjoy reading them and I do check on you regularly to see when you have posted. I would miss you if you didn't blog anymore, so my vote (If I have one!) is that you keep on blogging!!!

I, too, always enjoy your posts, especially the 'stories' - don't always reply, but almost always read.

I enjoy them as well... you are on my daily cycle of posts, you are one of the main reasons I still cycle this blog.  I find your stories enjoyable.  Sorry I don't comment more..

Don't stop posting if it's just because you think no one is reading them, I am and I do enjoy your perspective on things.. even pipe smoking..

Thanks for the replies. I doubt I will stop posting entirely, I have just lost some of my interest in it. It is probably just a "phase". You never know, I may become inspired and go back to writing stories from the road at some point. It could happen. Anyway, thanks again.

Just a note to say yours is one of two blogs I read. I have always enjoyed your posts even if I almost never comment (that is just my personality - not a commentary on your posts).

Thanks, folks. I doubt that I will stop writing entirely, I was simply expressing a certain... lack of interest in it at the moment. I am sure it will pass.

I can understand the "burnout".  I hope it passes quickkly as, like many of the others, I do enjoy your posts!  Whatever you decide or however long you rest, I look forward to reading more of your writing again!
