I'll start this off by posting a current image of myself.
Yes, I am a tad disheveled. I didn't bother running a comb through my hair or beard before taking the picture.
Now, on to the story.
This evening I visited a little pub in Gary, Indiana. I had some dinner and a few beers. During my visit I was talking with a youngish blonde woman. At one point she said that she liked my beard. Feeling a bit facetious, I stroked my beard and said "Thanks, I forgot to shave this morning".
She got wide-eyed and said "It grows that fast?"
At this point it was all I could do to not bust out laughing at her. Instead, I said "If I don't shave, this is what happens."
Of course, at no point here have I actually lied to her. That was what made it so funny to me. She assumed some things, and for whatever reason she believed that I could achieve such a beard in a single day. I tell you, it was all I could manage to not explode with laughter.
Yes, Virginia, there is a dumb blonde.
