Tactical Battle Question

I asked this question back in November, and I know there have been many changes and things happening since then, so I am curious as to if this is still in the plans.  In tactical battles are there plans still to have unit initiative?  Instead of the whole army taking turns, each unit has its own initiative and so each unit has its own turn for lack of better wording.  I haven't read anything about this since I asked the question back in November, and I believe it will improve the tactical battles very much.  Anyways, is unit initiative still in the plans?  I know and applaud the hard work you guys have and continue to do on this post release, so I am not complaining or anything, just waiting patiently, trying to anyway, and curious if I am waiting for something that is still coming or that has been cut from the game plan. Thanks.

Or more probably nobody knows.

Perhaps they will be trying again to make pausable-real-time tactical battles ala King Arthur.
I never played Total War games but the battles in KA are much to my liking: change formations, give orders, some units assigned to champions, cast spells, have passive personal/collective abilities...

That would be just fine here too.

I wonder why they told us their RT tactical battles were not fun. Perhaps they just couldn't make them work correctly? I'd like to know more!

I think FE will have initiative most likely. If they add it to the WoM code, all the better.

Yeah I was thinking probably in an expansion, but just not sure if it is still in the cards.  Thanks for posting guys.

Oh please no Real Time Tactical battles. Much perfer Turn-based tactical battles. And yes I would love to see inititive rolls in the game. But not sure if they will do this.

It's not that I absolutely want RT battles or demand them but I had also a bad feeling about RT battles before (having never played some) and was surprised, after playing KA, to see them as:

- NOT a click-fest (because it's pausable)

- 'realistic' (even if there is magic) in the sense that units take time to change formation, shoot arrows,... like in old times when orders were given by flags

- very fluid though intricate, feeling epic and allowing, yes, different tactics to be used.

It seems like the natural evolution of Dom3 battles that I was waiting for: from 'turn-based' led only by AI and scripts to something where I would take command.
I'm waiting to hear from Stardock about the tactical battles in FE...

I would like to point out three things (assuming its real time)

1) Its not too difficult to make the initiative system optional

2) It make multiplayer a better experience since you never have to spend too much time waiting for opponents

3) It adds a hole new dimension to strategy, which makes the AI programming much more complicated. This could lead to weaker AI.
