Might have been a better choice to have posted this in a SD Support thread forum, neone6 (for future reference) - that way Support Staff might see it and answer your question more quickly.

Open Impulse and right click while holding shift after clicking on WB7. From the submenu, select verify intstallation. Does it report WB7 being installed correctly?

Can you run your Windows Experience Index?

Also, in threads requesting help with WB, please copy and paste your WB info from the "About Windowblinds" tab.

What do you mean that WB shuts down? I have the problem that I cannot apply the Aero themes in the visual styles but WB does not shut down. They just do not apply properly and instead I get the classic look but I can apply another blind with no problem. I am not sure what causes this but I have ignored it because I seldom use the Aero themes.

Well First: Thats exactly whats going on here !

Second: If you check for the WB-icon you will see that it´s no longer active... But becomes active again when I change back 2 any non-aero skin Therefor I used the word "shutdown".

When you tell WindowBlinds that you are wanting to use the MicroSoft themes, you are telling WindowBlinds to unload and not load at startup.  You don't need or want WindowBlinds loaded if you're going to run the MS themes, MS takes care of it.  Load whatever Aero theme you want via the MS route after WindowBlinds is unloaded.

Hmmm... But still... to use aero themes I have to restart... and why put aero-skins in the WB previews @all then ?

no...something´z fishy.....>_> :maybe: XO

Ya I see now on the Stardock site that you're supposed to be able to work with the Aero skins.  So, like JBHL said

You also might try changing the title of this to "Having trouble applying Aero themes within WB"  or something like that to catch the right audience (I'd suggest leaving the "wtf" out too).  I'm not going to be able to help you with it.

What I do know is that I use to be able to apply the Aero themes within Windowblinds but not now. I had this problem before and I am not sure what causes it. Maybe running programs that are suppose to optimize your computer such as Advance System Care or Tuneup Utilities has something do do with it by adjusting some settings. It seems like after I ran one of those programs the themes stopped working. Like I previously stated I do not use Areo themes so it is no big deal to me but it would still be nice to know what is causing the problem. Impulse tells me it is installed correctly

what is "Windows experience index" ?

Right click on your computer icon and click properties, under system you should see a rating...if not you should have a choice to run the test to rate your system

MY BAD !! I checked Impulse again and it said that WB was N O T installed correctly and that I should look for an application update ???

Dr. JBHL... H E L P !! :waaaa:

"Windows experience index" ?

It is a rating that is given to your computer based on things like your processor and graphics capabilities. Right click on your computer in the start menu and choose properties at the bottom of the menu. It will take yo to where you can view that information and do a reassessment.

Sorry again I was beaten to the punch.

Then just choose to update it through Impulse. That may take care of your problem.

No do not re activate it. You should have the option to update it when you varify the installation or just click on updates at the top of Impulse.

Just update. There'll be a new tab that says "Updates" on it. Click on "Update all". Then after it finishes updating, you'll be told to reboot.

Just do it.... as I explained in pm.
