Any news on Object Desktop 2011?

Hi folks

I know that basically Object Desktop 2011 will consist of updates to those pieces of software that remain part of the package, the possible deletion of some and hopefully the addition of some new software.  I was just wondering if there might be any news from the developers as to what the community can be looking forward to seeing?

Have a nice day.  :sun:

I would venture to say keep breathing on a regular basis and don't hold it in.

There's a new app coming up soon, and big things coming in the rest of the year.  The yearly branding doesn't mean much as it was just a snapshot of a specific date.

  1. I don't know it seems like they (Stardock) withhold any useful information every year.
  2. It makes the decision on renewing harder and less likely because really each year there is less working useful programs than ever before. 8C
  3. If they would only provide an official list of things that are going to be fixed and or dropped.

Be careful both of You, I am banned from the WC forums for speaking out too loud. Just found out that I still can post via Stardock forums. So, I have been warning for months that Object Desktop will lose value more and more. Every now and then Brad comes to the forums to let us know he is 'caring'. So what has happened since my ban in October ? We have Window FX (useless for me) and an obscure new app that only exists in a tiny itzy bitzy screenshot Brad gave us again to never come back to his own thread.

Out of partly sentimental reasons (I am here for 10 years in march) and as there are no real alternatives to WB and IP I have renewed my subscription (still cheaper than buying both). As for Object Dock I am a happy Winstep Extreme/Workshelf/Nexus User now (I just love the sub-docks). DesktopX is pretty dead and I don't believe in any re-incarnation of RightClick any more (using NextStart as an alternative), opposed to what was promised. Still waiting for Apogee II also (haha, joke).

If You are looking for 'official lists', there are plenty already posted, but also have fun finding what of those great plans really happened.

They don't need to be "careful", as you weren't banned for criticizing Object Desktop, it was several things actually, but you already know that.

I will repeat again:

A new app is coming very soon.  Updates to other apps are in the works, plus more which I simply can't say.

And that should be enough. Since when has anyone had reason to doubt I.D.'s word? Or Brad's?

Why not let it be and let it happen in it's own time?

I wish people would trust those they should. Honestly.

Ahhh see what happened here, I asked a simple question and received an answer.  Yes I bumped the thread once but then a couple of folks had to take this in another direction. :annoyed:

Doc, the last person I trusted was the Air Force Recruiter, you know what happened with that.  :O

Must of us, not the trolls, are just looking for a little information now and then to help keep the smile on our face.  :sun:

c242, a lot of people think that they can say what they want on the Internet and there not be repercussions. This is far from the truth.

You cannot go into a man’s home, talk shit about him in front of all his friends, and not expect to be shown the door.

Once you realize this and understand your mistake, you will see that you owe him an apology.

100% correct, CG1.
