A problem with a new blind

I need help from the pros. I downloaded Ritchie31 new blind and though its not great its not to bad either. It actually is a big improvement over his previous blinds. The guy is 79 and making skins so i give him a lot of credit for that. Actually one of his sub skins in his new blind Manorbier V looks quite nice with some recoloring and transparency. You will see what I mean in the shot I am posting here.

My problem with the skin is that the text boxes are all screwed up. They have double text and in some cases look like they even have parts of open windows in them. I am not asking this for Ritchie. I just would like to know how to correct this in SkinStudio for my own use because truthfully I kind of like the sub style.

Any help would be appreciated.

Open it in Skinstudio. Go to: Edit Controls/Edit Combobox Controls/Read only Combobox. That needs to be skinned. What you can do is use the same image that is for the Combobox Border (in this skin it's called 'sunkedge_8.tga'), and set the painting margins to 2 for each edge. That'll fix it.

Xiandi your awesome. I just did this now and it worked perfectly. Someone should really tell Ritchie31 about this because so far that is the only problem I have experienced using it with Windows 7. Would you be so kind to let him know or would you like me to do it?

Actually, Junior, I've been in contact with him for the past few weeks, fixed this and other issues with the blind and sent it back to him, gave a detailed description on what would work better graphically and functionally with the blind, sent several graphics examples, samples, tuts, etc. that would possibly work well with the design he has in mind (castles-scottish) and occasionally I'll just get an email back asking, What do you think of the blind? Maybe you or someone else can communicate more effectively to help get him up to speed because obviously I'm not having much luck....  :S

Well he seems to be a man of few words so maybe hes a bit of a recluse. I notice he does not reply to comments either. I will say i am sure he appreciated the help and I know that I do because like I have said I actually like the blind and especially the sub styles. It is not perfect and i see some areas that could use some tweaking but it is a great improvement over his previous blinds.

I am a long way from that but I do like the sounds of having a Windowblind I made being available to the public for download. Some day I hope.
