SysStats Crushing OD2.0

I finally upgraded to Win7 and thought I'll install OD2.0 (instead of OD1.9 that I have on the XP machine. 

So, it's nice, even though the only new feature I really recognize is the cool reflections (and very nice skins that come bundles).

Today I realized a huge problem, definitely a regression that needs to be addressed.

I installed SysStats in order to use my favorite docklets, mostly self made, such as CPU/RAM/Virtual memory, Network (live download and upload speeds+IP), My computer(shows also the used  capacity of the drives), Moon phase, Gmail etc.

 

Unfortunateky, as I tried to add a docklet, OD crased (again and again each time I tried).

 

I'm sure anyone will agree that this is a huge regression! No docklet system greatly reduces the usability and attractiveness.

Specially the SysStats system was kind of open-source and allowed anyone with minimom coding skills to write docklets. It's an amazing system!

 

Please let me know if this issue is going to be addressed.

Sysstats hasn't been updated in a long time, so it does not work well with the newer versions of ObjectDock.  This is really an issue that would need to be addressed by the Sysstats developer.

I'm going to contact the developer of SysStats.

Just one free advice for Stardock, since OD suffers from a severe lack of docklets, specially comparing to Nexus, why not buy the SysStats technology that allows to easily develop all kinds of docklets and even better, it allows the users to develop very nice docklets even without knowledge of coding.

I'm sure it'll be a good deal!

I did some research and got a reply from the developer of SysStats, he Open Sourced it a long time ago.

 

So, the ball is in Stardock's ground, if Stardock likes to have an almost ready technology that worked great with OD in the past, the code is open.

Please give me a serious reply from the development point of view, will OD have decent docklets?

 

A dock without docklets is very un-attractive, if there are no plans for docklet support really soon, I'm definitely going for Nexus. (and so will many users once they discover the superiority of a dock that can monitor all kinds of aspects).

One last post about this subject (until there'll be some news from Stardock),

 

I switched to Nexus after a long time of using OD happily.

As I said, a dock without docklets is quite useless, Nexus is a great peace of software and has some very nice docklets.

I prefer the SysStats system that is open-source, I made some docklets using it and it was fun and very useful experience.

It's a shame that all this docklets and many other become redundant, the gallery exists I believe but none of this docklets work under OD2.

Since SysStats is open source, it should be easy for Stardock's developers to make it work.

If not, then I'm sure more and more users will discover Nexus that is definitely superior at the moment, it has much more options, very nice skins (also compatible with OD skins) and it works great (never crashed so far).

Still, no one can compete with the beauty of open-source technology so the docklets are still quite limited (but all of them are very well done).

Come on Stardock's developers, give SysStats a look, it may be easy to make it work.
