Hehehe! Sorry but I was. I give no importance to those titles.
But since you will now be able to view your ratings, it is a useful step.

Your just stubborn Paxx. To you, access groups are some sort of caste system. To us, they are merley access groups that provide gradiations between user and administrator. Thus as we come to trust users, we can give them more responsibility.

Cool, Frogboy.
Titles don't impress me, that's all.

I understand titles. But let me give you a real world example:

Today you uploaded a fantastic new theme for DesktopX. But it had to go through moderation because you insist on staying at a low access group. If you didn't insist on that, you would be a Journeyman by now easily. A Journeyman who uploads bypasses moderation and their submission goes directly into the library. Hence this saves the admins work.

But you wouldn't want to give everyone the ability to upload right to the library because (well if you saw the submissions we get, oh boy) abou thalf the things we get are rejected for one reason or other.

But over time, you know people, you trust people. You and I may debate but I trust you and so does everyone else here. Thus, there's no need for your submissions to go through moderation. That saves the moderators a lot of time.

That is one example of why we have access groups. They're not for ego, they're purely to spread out admin featurs across 9 access groups rather than 1.

Hum... Brad, you hit the right nerve. The last thing I want is give people more work because of whatever beef I have for or against anything. From now on, consider me as any regular Joe please. I don't want any special treatment, neither good or bad.

Berzerka for President!

Gee, Berzerka... talk about egos... I think you're letting this "apprentice" thing get to your head...

Yes, that was sarcasm

Hehe. Berzerka would already have been at Apprentice earlier if he hadn't done that cookie post thing.

hahaha....

you two crack me up... This argument is going to last the lifetime of Wincusto...

Berzerka... congrats on your recognition...

Hehehe, Andrew, I'm sure it will.
But you know what, I bet that if we were to meet some day, we'd probably be friends. We're more alike than we'd like to admit it. We just have different opinions, but I do have great respects our Frogguy.

*cough*froggy is describing a caste system*cough*

Anyway, how come I'm not an Avatar yet, this Master Apprentice thing stinks. As if I still have things to learn, @#$%!!

I had no idea that's what it meant when I log in and it says, "Welcome, apprentice AJCrowley". I've been and apprentice since the first time I checked though, so what comes before apprentice? Is journeyman directly after? What perks/bypasses come with being an apprentice?

k thx bye

No, caste systems are not based on merit, they are based on the concept of "birthrights". There is no upward mobility in caste systems. You are born a certain caste, you die a certain caste.

In fact, WinCustomize is one of the few sites that isn't a caste system. On other sites, you start a powerless end user, and you stay that way. Here you have upward mobility based largely on merit.

Alex...that's a 'pointed' comment....

One question: When we reach the JourneyMan "status", how can we expect to go higher than that? What are the criterias? I've read the About section and it looks to me that status beyond JourneyMan are elective (Admins of WC elect certains user to wizop, etc.) Am I right or do I need an eye check?

One may need to be careful how one poses questions about caste type systems lest this system has a "down" staircase as well as an "up" one
