Game fails to start

Howdy. I recently got SoaSE Trinity, and for some reason it simply won't start. I've updated it via Impulse and rebooted, and whilst I can get into the launcher asking me what I want to play, none of the buttons work, and upon clicking them there's a brief flash of the hourglass by the pointer, but nothing: not even a process in Task Manager. I also tried to launch it via the .exe in the game folder, and the same happened as above.

Any ideas?

Much appreciated, Skarkey,

It might work if you dont use the launcher and use the direct exes.

Sins of the solar empire.exe (org game)

Sins of the solar empire entrenchment.exe (org game & 1st expansion)

Sins of the solar empire diplomancy.exe (org game & 1st expansion & 2nd expansion)

What is your computer specs?

you can email support at support@stardock.com

Try to validate the install using impulse. If that don't work I am stumped, email support.

Ah, thanks. However, the option isn't there when I right-click on it, maybe because I bought it on disk? Regardless, thanks. Looks like I'm going to have to harass Stardock about this one.

It's shift+right click nowadays. It doesn't work real well on some 3rd party games that modify game installations, so they hid it, sort of.

I verified the install, and it said it was all good. I've sent StarDock an email, so I hope they can suggest something. Thanks regardless guys.

I had the same problem here:

The fix I talked about in the last post isn't working anymore. I uninstalled and reinstalled and patched Trinity and disabling DEP for explorer.exe isn't making it work anymore. I re-opened my support ticket, but was curious as to what answer you got out of technical support regarding this issue.

I was told on this Forum I couldn't start this game probably because of my Doc Nortons anti-viral package but I just don't believe that. Accept that I have oodles of spec capacity but what I do have is Windows 7 64 bit and I suspect that is the problem for this game.

Have any of the later patches or Mods come out which solve this problem? Does Trinity work on Windows 7?
