Objectdock+ 2.0 and Open Office

Hello,

when Open Office Writer is launched, I've got in the OD+ Taskbar only a "soffice.bin" icon what cannot be used to show Writer Windows (Windows 7 32bits).

Here's a link to an .ico of what you want (made it for you from the .png). You'll need to put it somewhere and then link it to Open office writer ,exe file.

:)

look up Aveicon2 which is a program to convert ico to png and vice versa.

Well, what is the use of it ? If I make a shortcut to Writer, I've just a new openoffice writer windows launched when clicking on it. It's a taskbar problem...

I am having the same problem on my HP laptop running Win 7.  When I run OpenOffice Writer, an icon appears in the dock for 'soffice.bin', and clicking that to bring up an existing window launches VLC (I guess it's currently the default launcher for .bin files).  The only way to get back to my window is by opening Task Manager and Switching To it.

Well, same problem with Libre Office. I suppose no one in Stardock Team uses Libre Office and Objeckdock in the same time... :andrew:

I use both and never had that problem. Running Win 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Lian where are you creating your shortcuts from, the start menu or the installation directory? If your dragging from the start menu and it is not working for you then try making a shortcut from the exe file in your programs.

Alternatively you can right click on the icon you placed on your dock and select settings\edit this shortcut. Your link field should look like this C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice.org 3\program\swriter.exe and your start in field should look like this C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice.org3\Basis\program\

If you are using 32bit then just delete the (x86)

Good to see you back JC. How's it going?

He's not talking about a launch shortcut that is placed on the dock by him. He's talking about a tasks icon on the quick launch dock when he opens the application.

Yes I get the same thing on the dock if I have show running applications checked but I do not get it on my taskbar. I will mess with it when I have time.

Also have the same problem with Windows 7 where hovering over the icon just shows soffice.bin and doesn't allow selection of file that is in the editor.  Same problem with LibreOffice 3.6 and OpenOffice.  Also after you click on it (and nothing useful happens) the icon changes to the VLC icon.  Doesn't look like there is a solution here to this problem.
