Volume and safely remove hardware icons have disappeared

Dear reader,

I have tried the free version of objectdock and it removed the volume and safely remove hardware icon from the windows system tray. If I restart explorer.exe they appear for a little while but then they just go hiding again. I think something is blocking their appearance somehow. does anybody know how I can bring them back?

Check to make sure hide inactive icons isn't marked
