Destinys Embers questions... [SPOILERS]

First of all, awesome book, wishing for a sequel to be announced.

Now... after much consideration, I am left with some questions...

During all the book, everyone tends to refer to the Titans as Arnor and Dread Lords... then there is Tandis...

And after I finished the book, my mind clicked... wasn't there an Arnor on the ToA campaign of GalCiv? His name was also Tandis...

I serously doubt that this is just some lack of imagination or recycling of names, so I wonder... is Elemental theorically on the same universe?

Will we see at the epilogue of Elemental 3 (Or whatever sequel) as they discover science, and then the image changes to the orbit of a planet, where an Altarian-like ship patrols the area, with Anthys visible on the surface?

Has Stardock confirmed that both games share universe? That they might merge someday? Or is just a very logical, yet unconfirmed theory?

Sorry if all this sounds dumb, just wanted to share my thoughts and doubts...

LoL, it would be cool if as with the writings of Stephen King, all works shared some common thread if you applied enough attention to wonder.

I really think it's just recycled stuff. I literally smacked my head when I saw the building named "order of draginol".

Short answer yes this game happens in the GAlCIV universe, the Tandis in the book is the same Tandis that helps you defeat the Dread Lords in Galciv. You can also draw a conclucsion about which faction the altarian resistance comes from. ;)

Took me ten good minutes to figure that out... I was all trying to find similarities... Pariden... no, Capitar... no, Altar... no... wait...

Honestly thought they were called Atarians due to being on the star Altair... (Haven't played as them in quite a while...) althought Altair means Altar on some language, dont know which.

Pure recycle!? But... but... Tandis even told Calis that they arrived at Elemental with something called science! (Starships!)

They are messing with our heads... and enjoying it!

On a side not... was there not a manuscript about GalCiv too? I seriously need more scifi books, come on Brad! Help the dying genre!

Heres a good one one of the random events in Galciv II is a losing faction sacrifices millions of its people to something called the telenannth(Spelling) This crystal also plays a huge role in Elemental lore so there is yet more proof that this game exists in the GALCIV universe.

I can already see some custom factions for Elemental and some new races of GalCiv...

I mean, check Society's screenshots, looks like the whole GalCiv universe went down to fight for that world!

Let's have the Drengin trying to conquer, the Drath trying to not be banquished from their homewrold... (Isn't there a resource called Drath village?) After all, a world of magic, apparently not that common!

It does take place in the Gal Civ universe, in its mentioned about the Altarians basically being able to use magic (though it isn't called that.) and how one of the other playable races (can't remember the name, think its Drath?) was originally from the same planet as the Altarians while something similar is mentioned in Elemental.

It's been heavily suggested that elemental's lore is derived from the same set of short stories as GalCiv's lore, and if I could put money down I'd wager the same.

Agreed. I enjoyed the read very much.

Perhaps 1 expansion will see the dominate EMPIRE (*cough, no kingdom will make it, *wink) of EWoM magically create a mighty Elemental Spacecraft and takes its place among the stars... after draining the world dry of its magical energy.
