Icons periodically moved back to Desktop

Three or four times over the past month, I'll find all the icons that were in Fences have been moved back to the Desktop.  The fence frames are still their and correctly titled, but all are empty.

If I have neglected to create a snapshot, it's rebuild time all over again.  (I know, shame on me for not backing up.)  Nonetheless, what's up with Fences and why is it so unstable?

Environment:

Win 7 Pro, 64bit dual core with 8 GB memory.

but for me only occasionally and only one shortcut at a time. I'll notice that one shortcut within a fence has moved back to the desktop. I can't seem to duplicate the event. It happens at least once a day and not always with the same shortcuts. I rename my shortcuts so that they are very short.

Other wise, it works perfectly. I love it.

Update:

After posting the above I discovered that there is a later version v1.01 so I downloaded and installed it — without removing/deleting the earlier version.

Note when installing v1.01 I got a message saying requirements, "Microsoft .NET.2.0." I have Microsoft NET4.0 so I just ignored the prompt to install NET2.0 and pressed Next. The installation continued perfectly.

I'll report back to let you know if v1.01.143 addressed the shortcuts moving back to the desktop anomaly.

BTW: With v 1.00.2787 when I brought up Help > Check for Updates, I got; You have the latest update. In other words, it was incorrect. I didn't have the latest update. I got my 1.00.2787 download via PC World.

Kerry,

Thanks, I'll give the update a try.  I also checked the updates and got the "you're updated" message.

Will let you know how it goes.

Ken

Kerry,

Installed the download from PCWorld and it is the same one I had before 1.00.2787.  PCworld.com site says that it is v.1.0!  Guess I'll have to ride it out for awhile and see what happens.

Ken
