Diplomacy scale

I stopped playing for a while. Wanted to take a break from sending in beta bug reports and such and wasn't happy with the game as it was. its gotten a lot better and i can see all this good potential! Anyway, was wondering. I think it was like this before the patching towards 1.1, but can't be sure...in the early game the AI's diplomacy rating sky rockets. So I'm at strength of say...20 and they're 150. I very very rarely am able to create a non-agression treat except for maybe in the first 20-30 turns. Is this intentional?

I have to say I've never had this happen to me once. I usually find it quite easy to make ridiculously one sided treaties with the AI so long as I toss a few gildar or DC on the pile. From now on though I'm avoiding diplomacy completely until the unbreakable bonds of treaties is fixed so I can finally play a game without conquest victory being made impossible :D

You must play in Iron Rager Man Mode. Its got simple rules, like Iron Man Mode.

No saving or loading unless you have to quit the game.

No diplomacy, you must declare war on every AI you meet, the moment you meet them.

No by-passing hostiles, you must attack any hostile stack you see, the moment you see it.

This is the only kind of game i play right now, because diplo is so screwed up. And whats pathetic is, i crush the AI on a regular basis doing this. Although i gotta admit, it sucks when your sov dies a lot, but since i have an all STR sov and i pretty much ignore mana. Mana is only useful for alchemy spell to convert to gold, so the mana lose on sov death has no real impact at all.

how do you get the alchemy spell?

I'll have to give it a try next game, would definitely stop me from accidentally NAPing and make my city defenses more useful. Think I'm going to wait a day before next game if we have another patch tomorrow (almost expecting them now lmao) and it adds more content. Played my last game on ridiculous level and maybe I got unlucky but a bunch of bears were like magnets to my early game Sov, who even though he actually had a helmet and was warrior specced is pretty pathetic before he gets at least a level up. Was a very torturous 30 turn grind before I could get some units to assist.
