Sins Live -- solve low online multiplayer counts by making an advertising-supported Sins Live ala Quake Live

Does anyone like the idea of the creation of a "Sins Live" ala Quake Live?  It would be free to play and supported by advertising, essentially creating a new potential revenue stream for the Sins property while inviting tens of millions of people across the world to help contribute to that revenue stream.  Of course, for Sins fans, it would dramatically boost online multiplayer activity.

Very cool idea Sanchez, i am not an online player, but your idea does have a nice appeal, and for those that like the online experience, it seems an inventive way to draw more people in.

The only other thing i could think that might help, and as i said, i am not a online player, so perhaps i am off here, but if there were a way to mediate or pair up like minded players, what i mean is casual players with casual players, hard core with hard core.

I know there seems to be a method in place for people who drop games, shows in their reputation i believe, at least that is my understanding. But it seems a 'attitude' method might be something to think about also. What i mean is someone who kicks or curses, or is rude or whatever reaps the 'badges' of those actions that appear on their multi-player profile. In this way, those who are rude or crude or abusive by virtue of their online 'handle' either have to keep changing their profiles, (with little or no history to vouch for their ability) or they learn to be civil online and keep their experience to show not only their ability, but their ability to deal with other players in an interactive and constructive way.  :)

Just my opinion, but it might be something that could be helpful to get a wide variety of people back online and playing consistently and enjoying it.  :)

Sincerely,

-Teal

Unlikely, yes, but impossible?  No.

Definitely doable and would be an interesting approach.

Intresting... but prolly wont happen.

Sins is still very much up there on impulses most sold list...

and advertising as a rule barely brings in enough money to support the servers (if even barely).

And, without a campain/storyline, there would be almost no reason to upgrade to buying the game.... (single player? when  you already have multiplayer? huh?... maaaybe expansion packs, but... then you have massive quantites of clueless people playing vanilla, and us vets still sitting on empty diplomacy... definatly should turn OFF the ablility to play with/against AI in a free version...)

Maybe make the achievements in sins compatiable to social networking sites... and throw in some stupidly hard achiements... (facebook,myspace... blah blah...)... then all the achievment nuts will be like... frag, i have to put down 30 bucks, and then win a 5v5... without anyone quitting early...  shouldnt be that hard... (EXCEPT people tend to drop instead of just surrendering, hence, impossible achievment... ,hence they are forced to play forever! bwahahhahaaa...)
