Keep getting the Failed to download data file message - Resolved

from Elemental Forums

I have been getting this error since the n/o Beta weirdness of last week.  I uninstalled an re-installed a few times and I am logged into Impulse properly.  No firewall blockage or Anti-virus.  Everytime I get the "Failed to download data file" message when trying to get the game running.

Any suggestions on how I can get the game running besides reinstalling again and again? 

 

I really hope 1.1 is good.

I got it a few times, after excessive crashing. Hold shift+tab, log in again, then try again.

Thanks, trekwiz.  I did not realize that I was not logged into the game.  I thought I was since I was "logged" into Impulse.

You're welcome. Signing in that way is signing back into Impulse. The only consistent pattern I've noticed to it is that it happens to me after a slew of crashes. I figured out what was going on after reading a few posts about people changing account names and running into the issue.
