Anyone know of a better Virtual Desktop plug-in for DeskTopX other than StarDock's dxvdm.dll it seems to be a bit buggy

There are no other VWM plugins for DX. I have heard that a new, improved one is in the works, but who knows when.

In the mean time, give vern or dvwm a try.

Part of the Object Desktop, includes a Virtual Windows Manager. It's called Band VWM.

yes, but it runs on the MS's default task bar, so if your using DX's Task bar/Tray you can't use it.

Right now Im using Object Desktop's Control Center with just the Virtual Desktops.
