Changing Icons on IE..........

The answer is most probably staring me in the face but for the life of me i cannot see it........Can you use Iconpackager to change the icons in the drop down menus in IE..... Take Favourites for instance,I can change some of them using Iconpackager but not all. I cannot see how to change the others apart from doing them one by one. Same goes for the actual folders.

There must be a easy answer but for the life of me i cannot see it.

Leo - open up a normal windows explorer window, hit tools, folder options, file types tab, scroll down to "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol", hit advanced, change icon..., browse to your icon...that should deal with the internet shortcuts
Unfortunately I can't find a way to change the little folder icons

If you open your IconPackager, then go to Icons and Cursors (second on the left side), click on the different buttons across the top, you can change the various system icons, like the IE documents and folders. Just highlight one of the icon types, then click on change (or browse). That way, all your IE document icons listed in your favorites (as well as the folders) will be changed. Also, there is a discussion (in General) about Favicons, with information on how to use individual website's favicons instead of the standard IE document icons.

Hope that helps!

using IconPackager didn't seem to affect all my IE favorite document icons, only about half for some reason, and it didn't affect the folders. Using the above method I managed to change the other half (although not yet the folders).

There are other situations where icons dont appear changed too. eg I just uploaded a new desktop image for my profile and the browse for a jpg dialog had standard yellow windows icons, like the faves menu, whereas every other folder on my pc is skinned (or whatever the term is) by iconpackager. Very strange

Tiggz terrific it worked. All we need now is a way to change those pesky yellow folders. I will whizz off an email to Stardock tech later to see if its possible

hehe, pesky yellow folders crop up everywhere, whereas what I want are dark, moody little folders

a good example is on the taskbar - if I have an explorer window open as a folder (without the tree displayed on the left) I get a nice little custom icon on it's taskbar button. When I click the 'folders' toolbar button to display the tree, the taskbar icon turns into a pesky little yellow folder with a magnifying glass
