That Bryce is a scary old app, don't you think Janice? Well, it scares the crap out of me. I'm trying to learn it at the moment, as well as learning to theme desktop X, AND make wallpapers to upload too. Welcome to my 26 hour day!
/me goes to get more caffeine.........

Yep Bryce 5.0 is out and does have some nice benefits. If you are only rendering to animations or .bmp you can spread the rending over all the processors on your network. This is great for people that want to work with wallpaper sizes and screen resolutions.

Note: the networking rending engine does not work if you have to render to large sizes or print grade DPI. For those that have used bryce before you know about the Render to Disk feature. Well that is still the only want to render for example a 24" x35" 300 dpi image...and the developers kind of forgot to incorporate the render to disc into the network engine.

But for others that get into landscapes, Tree's, Blended forms (meatballs) then you will love the new version. There are some nice enhancements to the landscape editor, and a new Tree lab.

I just thought I would let some of you know the details and the warning about the rendering engine it is kind of misleading on their literature and was a disappointment to me.

Oh and by the way the price tag is around $300.00 US....and yes ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
