Wincustomize and SDC / Skins & Themes: Will NOT update...

I have not been able to update the "Newest Additions" and "Updated Skins" sections for a
few days now. The newest "new addition" I have is from 11/11. I've
reinstalled both programs and that did not fix the problem. I've tried
the Atlanta and Calif. servers. Any suggestions? I noticed a couple of other mentions
of this at the newsgroup: stardock.skinbrowser under the heading "skinbrowser weirdness."

By the way, I did not see the new "bootskin" icon until I reinstalled the programs.

Can anyone offer any help?

Thanks,
Vic

I have the same problem, but I did notice that you can still find the new skins in each of the libraries (WindowBlinds, DesktopX, etc.).

I don't even see the new skins in the individual sections. I have the WC tray going and it tells me there are new skins, I can preview them from the tray icon, but they don't show up in the browser. I have to "refresh skins database" to see the new/updated skins.

I thought it was me. So is this a bug?

Close your SkinBrowser. Open Windows explorer and navigate to C:/Program Files/Wincustomize/SkinBrowser and delete updated.ini and new.ini. The next time SkinBrowser connects it will update those sections

1. It seems to have been installed in C:/Program File/Stardock/Wincustomize/SkinBrowser
2. The files mentioned were in the subdirectory Data
3. Deleted, closed tray and browser, started them up again... nothing, no updates. Browser library is behind the site and behind the tray. Then logged off and on and still nothing.
4. Tray was installed in C:/Program File/Stardock/Wincustomize/Tray. There is another set of .ini files in the subdirectory Data there as well.
5. Also tried "Refresh Site Updates Data" in the browser... nothing.
6. The only thing that works is refreshing the entire libraries.

Looks like the two products don't talk to each other.

Any more ideas?

Is this the right forum to report these problems? The Wincustomize browser is not in synch with the site and requires a full library refresh to get there (and then I'm not sure that even works). Is this the way it is supposed to be? (Not sure why one signs up for a subscription then.)

Here's what I have as an example. The bootskins on Wincustomize.com show the following:

1. Aston Martin
2. Evil Edition II
3. Inferno
4. Garfield II
5. Sea Torus
6. Simpsons Edition
7. Tribal Scorpion
8. Wolverine
9. Litestep edition
10. Parental Advisory

The WC browser under bootskins starts with:

1. Litestep edition
2. Parental Advisory

Under new editions the bootskins are as follows:

1. Aston Martin
2. Evil Edition II
3. Inferno
4. Garfield II
5. Sea Torus
6. Simpsons Edition
7. Tribal Scorpion

Notice there is no Wolverine? I can't find it anywhere on WC Browser. And it was last updated 12/13, three days ago.

I think that all the new/updated should show in the correct catergories as soon as they arrive.

Hate to complain, but it just doesn't seem worth it. It's easier just to go to the site so you can be sure to see "everything".
