1.09n BETA - Childern Channelers and couple other items

This there now a chance that your children will not be channelers? Playing with a custom female sovereign, and my first child just grew up, a male, and he is not a channeler. He does have his father's 1 tech point a turn bonus, but that is it. I cannot remember ever having my children failing to inherit the channeler trait before. Even the grandchildren always had it.

The city/pioneer spam does need to be addressed. On one side of me I have the AI building cities all over the place, with no respect to resources, terrain, or much of anything else.  There is one AI city that is squeezed between a high mountain range and the sea, on a strip of land one tile wide. If the AI had moved a few more spots, the area opened up and there is a resource there. On the the other side of me, the AI is trapped with limited space, so there are 6-8 pioneers sitting at the edge of my borders, waiting for who knows what.

Also, the generated mana seems to be doing something funny. Your sovereign generates 3 mana, and each shard with a shrine on it adds one more, correct? So with 2 shrines, you should be generating 5 mana a season. I am currently only generating 3, I have no spells, enchantments or summoned units, so not sure what is happening. Is there (or is there going to be) a screen that shows you the sources of mana, and what you are expending mana on?

the whole children thing isn't really working properly anyway... boy copies father, girl mother is just plain stupid. especially the description bit.

that said... mine seems to have quite high atk ratings... (50 something...) and that's a boy with janusk the farmer as father?! (ok.. it's sitting in the capital.. eh... farming)

Just had one of my daughters grow up, she inherited all her mother's traits, except for Channeling. I can imbue my children but they are not getting the channeling trait naturally. Without that, the only real use for children is marriage fodder.

And the other thing I have noticed, for the starting spell books, I have not found them under the Magic tech tree yet. So does that mean that if you choose not to start with some spell books, you will not be able to gain them later through another means?
